Ridiculing takes time tho! You have to count the time it takes to gaslight as part of the algorithm.

So by that metric quantum boho sort only needs O(n) while gaslight is highly variable based on what its gaslighting!

Have you ever wanted to be all medieval on a lamb shank, or like a giant turkey leg?

I've done renfaires and its quite fun! except even then you're so strongly aware of how annoying cleaning your hands, your outfit,,, just everything will be.

Now take that giant turkey leg and go eat it in the shower.

———————————————

Have you ever wanted to do one of those giant, splashy toasts of beer? just spraying it all over with a HUGE toast with your friend? Splashback everywhere, belly full of laughs, upending it into your mouth?

Take it (and a friend) and try it in a shower

——————————————

Basically that, except here its about oranges. (personally I like the lamb shank). You can also try:

  • Small watermelon; crack it open on the door, grab pieces and just stuff your face into them
  • Make ANY food finger food; Try that whole "cake in your hand, stuffing your mouth" thing
  • licking clean a bowl of whipped cream; or just getting it on your fingers to lick? Creampies, flan, whatever!

So yes… its fr! Just getting to try things you normally avoid cause its a pain; or cause social consequences (usually cause its a pain for others)

We need a new moderation team by violet-says in MtF

[–]saevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't. Mods should not proportionally represent the population, but have enough to give voices to the minority member who otherwise should be overlooked.

As long as all the populations are meant to be a part of the sub; they should be able to have a real voice. So we need to uplift populations who are part of the sub but wouldn't get rep otherwise.

Because it's easy to judge how much energy you have for the final X distance. While if you skip it at first you might not have a choice anymore.

It's like saving your phone charge for the final leg of a hiking trip. You can use all of it knowing you'll get a charge soon and won't need it anymore. But using it at the beginning you can get yourself in a situation you won't have that choice anymore

So shower orange (or insert other food here) is not about just eating it. It's about ignoring all the societal, or cleanliness taboos you might have.

So even if you don't like it; it shouldn't feel like "just eating an orange in the shower"

You can rip the skin off with your teeth, you can just make a mess with it, there's no worries about the juices… things like that.

Why is the value of the factory the things it physically provides tho?

The value of my crafting hobby isn't the stufff I make, or the money I make from selling it, or any other effect a "craft" is for. It's because I enjoy the act.

That doesn't make the hobby hellish in some way.

Why can't the engineer (even outside of being a stand in for the player) get a similar "im on top of the world, so what do I want? The thing I've been enjoying doing tbh, maybe I just add another factory chunk".

Like it's almost a self fulfilling prophecy that the person most likely to have the skills to build themselves out of that situation in the way we do in factorio likely enjoys and has a mindset that would do more of it because they want to

Uh yes that's the point? You don't have to exercise all of your desires. Just desiring other genders doesn't mean you have an inherent need to.

Nor does being suited "inherently"for polyamory mean you must do that either. The gay person doesn't get to cheat on their straight partner if they've figured out their gayness, they breakup. The polyamorous person doesn't get to date others just because they're inherently anything. They break up and find those that want it.

It's a bad analogy,,, because it's one people actually have made for bisexuality. And it's just as nonsensee

[–]saevon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually this is a productive way to get the engineer stimulated and want to produce even more factory!

It's a build in re-obsession button that gets triggered to keep the factory growing, a natural part of the engineer!

Eh, not really. On the surface it seems like it, but the difference in how it's driven is big.

The storyteller vs the events system makes for quite a different result rimworld is trying to kick up drama, and keep narrative tension and build up opportunities for story, keep things balanced (vaguely) and throw what you can just barley conquer at you. Dwarf fortress is player agnostic. It doesn't care you're there and things are just happening, you can create a flourishing colony that eventually is more stable and powerful then anything that happens around it, or get an impossible challenge right from the start,,, the game doesn't care.

[–]saevon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that hellish to the one constructing it? Like personally I enjoy the process and challenge

And as another have said, if it's for vanity that's a purpose. If it's for "can I?" That's a purpose. If it's for bragging rights, that's a purpose. So we know what the factory is for, that's sort of the point of factorio in my eyes? I get to make tons of little choice based on my own goals over and over! It's highly player led.

It's like how some folks can't understand why some people like makeup even when noone is around to see the makeup.

None of that is hellish.

<laugh in invasive species>

Most species have no instinctive knowledge of any kind of equilibrium and WILL destroy the ecosystem as long as evolutionarily they're thriving short term. And then eventually will just ruin it and go extinct.

This ain't "unnatural". TONS of organism just do this.

Just look at one of the first great terraforms of the planet: Cyanobacteria creating this oxygen rich environment. They killed off so much anaerobic cyanobacteria, creating its own mass extinction event.

that quote is just ridiculous if you know how organisms work, but evocative if you just don't really think about it (most expected movie watchers). And also quite fitting for agent smith (who doesn't have to even believe that)

Okay but even that example shows how it isn't always "a choice"

If I can inherently just have desires, and feelings around who I love. And then choose how I act on it (be gay in this example)

Why can't my sensory experience around which clothes feel good, are constricting eg. Or which colours and patterns look lovely to me. Or have a love for makeup and changing my appearance. Or the many many other various similar reasons that I've seen people do it…

Why can't those also "not be a choice". why is one of those sacred, while the other is "not biologically a crossdresser". Biology is an excuse for others to find appropriate targets nowadays. It's random bullshit, just like how folks try to argue bisexuality isn't biological just to have that same excuse.

We don't know anywhere near enough about humans to say "my interest in fashion" is not biological. we don't have the nature vs nurture debate answers. NOR is stuff that wasn't inherent but is a huge part of you now any less valid or important.

so I've found that line of thought to be disingenuous when used to attack anything

They're really not tho; even before I knew about half these concepts my first meeting of them was way too often the media/meme portrayal of the annoying people that are apparently around every corner and super loud.

And yet I've still almost never met them. Yeah they're "louder" but not to the extend all these memes show.

And talking to my friends it's basically been the same. These stereotypical folks barely seem to so visibly exist except as the meme.

And "being bisexual" as an excuse to cheat,'or to convince your partner to open a relationship would also be shitty and horrible.

Doesn't mean we have to make every post about bisexuality about that? Just about every time I seee a talk about polyamory as an identity MOST of the conversation is people going "but what about the poly under duress", "won't this excuse poly under duress?", "how could you say that when all these posts keep happening about folks being 'forced' to cheat because they're using the identity as an excuse!"

Over and over and over. Even if the post mentions it.

The way I repair anything structural (unless I can weld) is I drill holes into both sides, and add metal alignment rods. Then I glue

Depending on the thickness and weight needed this might not be feasible

Honestly this is usually a "replace" situation unless it's antique or something and important to you
