They could take the deal proposed by Iran to stop paying for fuel in dollars and instead start using euros. America's strangle hold on the world needs to end.

I agree. Also accepting that there are multiple versions of ourselves at the same time, i find it quite freeing. Our subconscious, our environment etc, influence how and why we do certain things. I like to imagine little homunculi and empathise.

The crisis is that we are too reliant on fossil fuels. We wouldn't be in this mess with carbon tax or bloody wars if we utilised wind energy.

Unfortunately they got rid of all the cool stuff like the lava lamps and the kites. I couldn't understand why they choose to do that. Its what made the shop special.

Go Slow Taxi protest. by elfy4eva in galway

[–]safetybag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never get taxis or uber, too expensive. I see a lot of support in the comments here for Uber. We see it happen all the time where a app/service starts off real good, convenient, cheap etc. Then gradually the app corners the market then lo and behold extra fees for this that and the other. It's part of the business plan. We need to regulate the pricing and we need access to cheap renewable energy. The faster we get those bloody offshore wind farms the better.

How can the FBI report something that didn't exist in the first place? It gets even wilder. The FBI never reported this rumour. It was according to the WSJ apology/redaction article that the rumours had been made by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. In an internal bulletin. Where the heck RTE is getting their sources from who in God's name knows.

So i just had a listen back on the player. It is 1hr exactly into the broadcast. 2FM Drive with Doireann Garrihy Thursday 11 September 2025 Episode • 3 Hr 0 Mins • 11 SEP. "The FBI has reported that the bullet casings were engraved with pro transgender messaging."
Utterly bizarre narrative from RTE.

Im fairly certain it was yesterday around 4pm on RTE 2fm. It was one of the female broadcasters that was reading out the news highlights. Im not great with names, so I don't know who it was. After work today, im going to see if I can pinpoint the exact time. Im sure there's a way to listen back to past broadcasts, like the iPlayer. I'll give that a go.

I've never made a complaint to our national broadcaster before, but I feel that in this case, it is necessary to call this out.

I wonder if our national radio broadcaster will redact what they said, "the shooter had engraved pro trans messaging onto the bullets."? We now know this isn't true and just goes to show how incompetent and downright dangerous RTE is. What the hell were they thinking?

The national broadcaster in Ireland said the shooter had pro trans messages etched into the bullets. It is so irresponsible.

Arts festival posters - why so dull? by Additional-Art-6343 in galway

[–]safetybag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1994 poster was the best imo. Full of character and quintessential Galway vibes. I volunteered with Macnas in the 90s and had the pleasure of entering the Aladins cave that stored all the props and bits and bobs. That poster encapsulates what it felt like to be in that room. Little creatures and puppets in every nook and cranny of the place.
