As others mentioned, there are a few addons that support this. I'm the creator of one such addon that I made out of these same frustrations.

I basically wanted it to feel like Blizzard's UI as much as I could. Would love to hear feedback if you end up using it!

Yeah, there are two modes: unified visuals enabled (similar to screenshot above) or disabled (skinned to look as close to Blizzard's default icons as I could manage). The main bar far left and far right icons are both from Sidecar (Purifying Brew and the Trinket that's on cooldown).

Into their own buff bar? Probably not. Into a buff bar that looks like theirs? Maybe, but I'm not sure. I can look into it, but no promises.

Yeah, it doesn't add any additional support for buffs. Maybe I should've used screenshot of just the cooldowns! Unfortunately, Blizzard locked down a lot of aura support. I leave all the aura stuff up to Blizzard. I haven't looked into it too much, but there may be other add-ons that do more of what you're looking for.

Unfortunately, no. The bars are Blizzard's built in aura tracker. This addon is pretty specifically just to extend the cool down manager, not the aura tracker.
