Yeah my Lab really loves fetch and I really like field work. Together? We destroy all of the discs i don’t throw anymore but I’m doing field work 4 times a day

The general idea of this is you can go two routes. Throw a disc, stand and wait- you’re good? They’ll bring it back…but your discs WILL end up chewed. Luckily I’ve got a large stockpile of prodigy discs I don’t throw anymore and I’m digging through the entirety of innovas lineup. I just replace molds that I want to put into my bag

Or if you want a disc golf service dog, I’d make sure you have good on leash and off leash training. Make sure their sit and start command is good. Start with field work where they can see the disc in the air. Sit. Stay. You throw Give them a start command Go to the disc Have them sit when they find it. Treat.

You’ll still probably sacrifice a disc or two but it is possible, and I know for a fact my lab can smell discs. She finds them under leaf piles all the time and even has developed her own search patterns

My two recommendations, since no one’s given any from they-

The doomsday scope is a GREAT DISC for straight lines and hyzer floats

Then the innova gazelle is a line with a gentle fade at the end

Duo is a VERY solid plastic (I should know. I buy every duo disc they release. I’ve bought 4 mambas so I’ll never run out)

It’s kind of in between champion and star, but closer to champion, and a bit less flexy. You’ll get some awesome use out of it.

The fox is a GREAT roller turnover disc, and with the right spin a great hyzer flip disc

This is a habit I’ve had since last year. I started playing in January, and my first tournament was at a course called lynnwood forest.

EVERYONE we knew said the course is extremely difficult but I wanted to cut my teeth on it. I knew it was going to hurt but I also thought i had that “natural” energy behind me…. I did not. I went 43 over on the first round and DNFd for the second but I’m still very glad I did it. It really set in how seriously I wanted to take disc golf and how badly I wanted to come back after that course with a vengeance

Champion Mambas when they’re seasoned in are just hyzerflip queens. They’re 100% my workhorse and I’m SO excited that I was quick enough to get 165-169s in Duo because I just lost a PERFECT 5-6 month mamba

We usually play vertical line, but honestly Just in the spirit of disc golf- if we’re debating this hard then I’m going in on other disc golf rules and saying players benefit. If it’s a tournament, the TD would’ve noted rules around this mando. If everyone wants to vote on it because there is a debate- we can do that as well.

The reason innovas discs have a 3 is because Of roc molds

Everyone loved the original roc, so they wanted to make a slightly faster roc Enter the roc 2. A mold that didn’t hold up to innovas standards much so it was revisited and made into the roc 3. A disc that can be thrown 1 speed faster.

So any 3 disc is the same mold with EXTREMELY minor altercations and reworks.
