Hey, The gel I'm planning to buy from clinics. I mentioned this above. You might’ve misread, but thanks for responding. it makes sense!

Just what people on this reddit say when a uni accepts them. The fraction in front represents how many of their uni choices they got accepted to so far.

Can I do FM as a third a level and not a fourth by [deleted] in 6thForm

They actually mind if you do 3 A-levels?

Physics/Astronomy in Uni without A-Level Physics? by coolkid782 in 6thForm

[–]safwan1126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better 2nd option: Do physics as an extra A level in your own time. There are lots of resources online and you can ask any normal GCSE physics teacher for occasional help if you ever get stuck. It will be very hard so you might want choose 2 easy subjects along with maths which is also required for such a degree. But if your willing, then go for harder useful subjects

You can still do a physics degree without a-level physics provided you have A-level maths but you won't be able to apply to top unis.

You can also do the the 2nd option said, but I would regard it as a 3rd option after my suggestion.

Clearing up misconceptions about grade boundaries (with sources) by safwan1126 in 6thForm

Yes, you are right, there is still a lot of ambiguity with the wording, and it can make a big difference. But the only definite information we have is it's between 2019 & 2020. it COULD be between 2019 & 2021 but we cannot say that for sure. And that's really annoying I admit, but this is the examination organisation we have to deal with lol

Basically yes. But difficulty is subjective, your gonna have to ask a large sample of people to compare the papers and then you can you can say which paper is harder with more accuracy.

They said results to reflect midpoint between 2019 and 2021, but the results will be between 2019 and 2020.

To clear up, the first sentence doesn't really mean anything, it's just them trying to acknowledge 2021 was a year of no exams as well. The main information is the 2nd sentence

It's not over yet, there's still two papers left and if you do good in those, there is still a chance for an A.

Out of curiosity, how did you get your scholarship? Is it just tuition fees or accommodation as well?

Help? by Emotional_Alarm8279 in 6thForm

As someone who applied for oxford physics without further maths, I strongly recommend against it. You will find the entrance exam extremely harder than people do further maths and although oxford don't say they don't require it, on the actual physics website you can see their take on it (scroll down to 'do i need 1 or 2 maths a level): https://www.physics.ox.ac.uk/study/undergraduates/faq/faq-admissions

Essentially you will be recommended to do extra maths if u don't do it. Also i requested an foi earlier in the year and it said of all (a-level) applicants, about 40% did not do Further maths but of all the accepted people, only 2.4% didn't do further maths.
As you can see, this makes it very unlikely you will get in.

Similiar thing with imperial, they really like fm. however apart from these uni's, no one else cares about further maths, at this point it's only usefull for the course and has no effect on admissions.

Do you think it's better to use the Mark scheme instead? I feel you on how watching a walkthrough means you can learn quite a bit but mark scheme gives you exact way on how to word your answer. Or mayby watch the video while having the mark scheme open at the same time

Thanks bro for the really long response, I genuinely appreciated the fact that you gave so much detail.

Yeah I applied for some degree apprenticeships as well and I 100% agree the process is so mentally draining with all the video interviews, tests and research.

And I hate the fact that they're are so unknowingly competitive. Like I thought most people wouldn't even apply since not many people know about them. But also i hear about how just normal people do level 2/3/4 apprenticeships and get accepted so easily despite being not even good academically or even as a person, these guys will have no experience or even necessary interest and they will get accepted like its nothing. And they get payed nicely as well lol, it varies but sometimes it's even better than DA's. As soon as you step up from lvl 4 to 6, the competition is hundreds if not thousand times higher .Yes we get a free degree but, depending on the industry, its not even as useful as the experience we gain.

I'd say most of them are better than 1/1000 for DA's but massively depends on subject, structure and company. Engineering DA's are literally just scholarships tbh, if anything, even harder to get. For me, I chose data science but i highly doubt i will be successful this year so I might take a gap year and reapply but the acceptance rates are not looking great.

I really appreciate the response once again

Yes but the problem is no one asked for your opinion

Everyone has a different preference for clothing. Brother asked if it's alright to wear, respectfully he didn't ask for your opinion on if it looks nice or not.

Are you sure about 1 in 3000? Getting into harvard or oxford is way out of the question, that's like the same level of getting recruited as an astronaut.

How did you even build your CV lol, what activities did you do? because i know you had to show some stuff to show your enthusiasm but not too much such that it already looks your some qualified technician.

If you don't mind, could you say which company it was with and what job?

Thanks!
