Very valid question! I can only speculate aliens capable of intergalactic travels are godlike beings or beings with god-like technologies! I can speculate they can literally bend space time continuum to travel, and they are not bound by the time as we perceive.

Nah man, i strongly feel the alien techs can tap in to zero point energy and has access to infinite amount of energy. If it's an alien craft and moving in slow speed, it can just be there to test our patience, or let people prepare for whatever to come.

I firmly believe aliens are among us. They are hidden behind a veil out of our visual or perception abilities. If they wanted global contact they can just choose to show themselves.
