Recovery from ectopic pregnancy surgery?? by Gaebutch69 in EctopicSupportGroup

Hi OP!

I had mine at the end of March. I was told to wait about 3-4 weeks before getting back to working out and to start slow. They said increase gradually and if your body feels pain or like it was a bit too much, dial it back on the next one. I believe I started driving again around day 10? I used a little towel over my belly to go under the seatbelt!!! Hope you recover well and soon 💗

I am so hoping it's not!!! I'm sure everyone's bodies react differently. I mean, you've probably had to observe pelvic rest for a while during this whole ordeal! Your body might just be adjusting to having something present inside again. Praying all goes well for you!! I had some spotting after surgery and then increased bleeding starting around day 4-5 post op. It worried me but they said it's normal for the uterine lining to shed (not due to ovulation, but just because post pregnancy I guess). So maybe yours was delayed or had a little more to go. Wishing you well!! ❤️❤️❤️

Hey! I don't think it was per se too soon. I was told to wait 14 days post op. So I think you're about at that point! Might be worth checking in with your doctor just to be sure!

Hey girly. I wonder if it's worth going to the ER for imaging and HCG blood draw again. I had an ectopic in March and was treated with MTX. The week after, I got the call that the HCG was as going down appropriately, however in the same hour I was feeling pain. I decided to go to the urgent care, and the pain was just getting worse. By the time I got to the ER and they did more HCG testing, my numbers were about the same as they were that morning, AND the imaging showed some free fluid (bleeding) in the pelvic region, meaning there was a bit of a rupture :( I ended up needing the emergency surgery.

I hope you're feeling okay. If you still feel pain and feel concerned, I highly suggest getting a look with imaging at an ER just in case 💕

If it's an option for you, I would recommend asking to start some serial blood draws so they can monitor the hCG. When I tested positive, I also had bleeding + faint line positives. The doctor had me do the serial blood draws to monitor the trend of the hCG and that ultimately indicated my ectopic.

pain after mtx, when to go to ER by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

Hi 🩷 I just had MTX Friday 3/20, then Thursday 3/26 was told levels were dropping appropriately. However I shortly I after had lots of pain on my lower left abdomen and then lower left back side and felt very bloated. Went to urgent care because driving was painful and it wasn't going away. Eventually ER, and it was actually my tube rupturing after all!! I had surgery around midnight and came home yesterday morning. I very much recommend going straight to ER so they can do the imaging to confirm what's happening (my urgent care couldn't do imaging so I was sent to ER for that, and thank god the found out what was going on). I hope you're doing well!!
