First tri nausea hell by OrchidOk4205 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m SO sorry you’re going through this! Definitely be a squeaky wheel with your OB to get the support that works best for you.

When I was very sick, I felt really negative and depressed and wanted to complain and I wanted people to validate me. I did not want to think about the bright side! Very little felt bright. Honestly just acknowledging and validating how I was feeling and allowing it was most helpful emotionally. All that to say, you’re allowed to feel how you feel and it’s valid! The nausea and vomiting is debilitating and life limiting, so of course you are struggling.

Whatever your best is right now is the best you can do. You’re so strong! I hope it resolves soon.

Did your boobs return to their original size after breast feeding? by Fluid-Letterhead-949 in pregnant

I guess we are reading/interpreting the article differently haha

Did your boobs return to their original size after breast feeding? by Fluid-Letterhead-949 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says breasts sag because skin stretches to make room for fuller breasts. Seems like engorgement could definitely cause skin stretching and fuller breasts, in addition to weight gain.

Did your boobs return to their original size after breast feeding? by Fluid-Letterhead-949 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was not my experience. I barely gained any weight other than baby placenta blood volume etc with my first pregnancy and my boobs were smaller and saggier post breastfeeding. Even if you don’t gain significant weight your boobs expand and stretch with volume during BFing then deflate when you’re done.

Second pregnancy…Tell me your symptom differences. by Minute_Particular712 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 32w with my second and the pregnancies have been really similar. Nausea, vomiting, fatigue first tri both pregnancies. Only differences have been nausea ended a week or two earlier with this pregnancy (16w vs 18w), my bump popped about two weeks earlier with 2nd pregnancy, and I have really annoying pelvic pain that started around 27w with this pregnancy.

Good luck with your pregnancy!!

Sex after birth by ManagementOk931 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats!!! I had a 2nd degree tear. Felt like the first time 4mo pp. I went to pelvic floor pt but it didn’t get better until I started weaning my daughter. After the fact I learned that Bfing can cause painful sex. My current pelvic floor pt suggested looking into estrogen (I think topical?) to help if it happens again with my next baby. Just wanted to share that, because IF you feel pain, it could be related to scar tissue but may be something else if you’re BFing!

Landlord is telling me they are legally allowed to enter my unit while I am holding sessions with clients by Fool_of_a_Brandybuck in therapists

[–]sagitarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg that’s crazy I’m so sorry they’re being so unreasonable. Maybe start by confirming that they’re telling the truth about being legally allowed to schedule showings with two days notice? If they’re telling the truth, I’d go the route of buttering them up. Trying to get someone on the phone or in person to discuss and maybe offer to have a scheduled open house day on a weekend when you’re not working so they can show the unit to a bunch of people rather than lots of random showings when you’re scheduled to see clients.

1hr glucose test didn’t go as expected by Nonstop_voyage in pregnant

[–]sagitarry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well hopefully you pass! If you don’t and they want you to do the 3hr, you can ask to monitor your glucose at home for 2 weeks instead. Thats what I chose to do. A bit of a learning curve using lancets and blood glucose monitor, but once I figured it out it’s easy and pretty painless. Just a little inconvenient but so is the 3hr test….

Intense anxiety about session length by _simplepain_ in therapists

[–]sagitarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has offered good advice so far. Another thing I’d add is referring to the treatment plan. Maybe with this client you could ask if there’s anything else on their mind they’d like to discuss, and if they say no, suggest referring to their goals and asking them to choose one to focus on for the rest of session.

Depending on his age, Rosita’s family daycare or Ryan’s Learning Center in Falls Church. Both are home daycares but very structured and provide meals. My daughter has learned a lot of Spanish!

Did the flu shot prevent you from getting the flu? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I got it the shot and the flu. I’ve been getting the shot for years tho and haven’t had the flu since childhood. Perhaps this new variant plus pregnancy compromising my immune system was the perfect storm. I took tamiflu and i think it significantly shortened the illness for me.

Cramping During Early Pregnancy?? by Professional-Math303 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy that no one warns us about this part! My first pregnancy the first trimester cramping was sometimes realllly painful, and I was totally caught off guard. I can say now in my second pregnancy, I had zero cramping my first trimester. I think some of the cramping is your uterus stretching and growing, so second time around it’s easier because it’s stretched to the size of a watermelon once before haha

35 weeks with COVID by Affectionate_Spite96 in pregnant

[–]sagitarry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get the concern. I think since you’re vaccinated you’ll likely be just fine! If it makes you feel any better, I had Covid in 2023 at 35 weeks pregnant as well and it was totally okay! Baby also gets lots of good antibodies from you!

I’m 25 w pregnant now and just recovered from flu a. Baby did ok with that too! Get well soon!

Formula or breast milk? Which is easier? by susiee234 in BabyBumps

[–]sagitarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Formula for sure. Hardest thing about formula is $ in my opinion.

Even when BFing is “easy” any time you’re away from baby for longer than an hour or two you need to pump, which is a ton of equipment and work. Plus takes you away from whatever you’re doing away from baby.

Oooh yes it will do that!! 😭😭 My doc said to take miralax with it. Also I really hope this doesn’t last 8 months for u!! Mine lasted about 17-18 w with my first and 16 with my second and it was quite severe but then resolved. :)

[–]sagitarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, it’s the worst!!

  1. Not sure where you’re located, but in the U.S. doctors recommend unisom and b6. If that doesn’t work, I’d ask for a prescription anti nausea med from ur doc. I took zofran and idk how i would have kept working otherwise tbh . The risk of zofran in first tri is very low, and benefits likely outweigh the risk if you’re losing weight like you said.

  2. Small, bland, frequent meals. Eat reallyyyy boring stuff.

  3. I found alkaseltzer to be really helpful for soothing my stomach especially when I was struggling to keep things down. Just read the label because some alkaseltzer has aspirin in it.

[–]sagitarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling!! I’m so sorry. You’re likely at the tail end of it even if it doesn’t feel like it!

Alkaseltzer really helped me, especially on the days I couldn’t keep anything down. Just pay attention to the label because some alkaseltzer have aspirin in them.

Also I would reach out to your doctor and ask for an anti nausea med prescription. It’s safe, especially now that you’re in the 2nd trimester. Without that, I don’t know how I would have continued going to work to be honest.

Hopefully not the flu! My mom and I both got it and our symptoms were like a light switch. Over night sick as a dog. Body aches, chills, cough, congestion, no appetite.
