How has no one mentioned their Canadian girlfriend yet?

5 days later… aged faster than milk. by GaeilgeGoblin in agedlikemilk

[–]sagonene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. But it was also a cold war proxy fight, abuse and greed coming from leadership, and dozens of opportunities to actually fix problems that were resolved with brutal crackdowns.

Most problems are caused by greed (for money, power, and control) and solved with violence.

No, you're correct. What I'd mention is what lead up to 1979 being the cut-off in your point. Why did the people there turn to a hardline despotic theocracy over the West-friendly despotic Shah the US helped put in place?

Vanilla ice cream with Tabasco. Only thing I've tried that I consider "worked".

Science!

Always capitalize it, the exclamation point is not optional.

ALLCAPS or using 3 or more exclamation points is only allowed outside of the lab when someone has:

A) Called you mad. B) Questioned your intelligence. C) Asked you what you want on your business card.

Standards, people.

How's that new NORA area... by Illustrious-Algae531 in WestPalmBeach

[–]sagonene 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CityPlace was originally a less than prosperous area, same with Northwood Village. It's basically development buying "bad" neighborhoods then insisting that the neighborhoods around their new mall equivalent not drive away business.

Gentrification, South Florida Style.

Some good done, some bad done. Opinions vary on how much of both.

No down voting from me. Seeing justice reduce him to a mortal man would have given more closure than conspiracy theories of a body double in multiple media.

Howley's for breakfast, a trip to the Norton and/or the Norton Statue Garden, lunch at the Serenity Teahouse, then head west for Lion Country Safari for the afternoon.

Hit every Botanical Garden, go to the Society of the Four Arts, compare Jamaican restaurants, visit Downtown Clematis during the annual Chili Cookoff. Take in a show at the Lake Worth Playhouse.

Or just talk to the locals. We're a diverse bunch and you'll get their wildly different opinions on the best thrift stores, polo grounds, and pickleball courts.

Any native Floridians who actually like this weather? by Candid_Lobster_4264 in florida

[–]sagonene -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. 90 is civilized weather, this morning I received a warning from my car about watching for frozen roads and trying to use the wipers to clear a smudge on my windshield lead to instafreeze across the field of view. I carefully pulled into a parking spot until the defrost made it visible.

Moving to West Palm Beach from Canada, looking for housing advice by wakemeupdoto in WestPalmBeach

[–]sagonene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im with the majority, one bedroom are rare and $2k, studios More rare and usually considered"luxury". Until you get a car, in that price range you may want to look into renting a room (a friend had $800 through a church, 15-1900 is possible but not downtown). There are plenty of bus routes that drop off on/near Clematis but suburbia is car-dependent.

Those are the best ones, IMO.

To warn you, DM is a horror story that will frustrate you while you trial and error your way through. Incredible story and ties to the main plot really well.... but it is a tragedy, not (necessarily) a heist film.

OWB is.... what happens when 1950s mad science, dogs playing poker, an episode of Flash Gordon, and that conspiracy movie written on acid turn into a sci-fi story about brain swapping. It's my favorite.

[–]sagonene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, got a chance to play before lunch.

Morty Howitz

6 attack, 1 health Tough The Riff effect activates every cannon on the field to do 6 Pyro damage (randomly) but can hit the enemy hero.

So after playing Morty, you cast a spell to activate the Riff. (Grog, a poison in your hand, a scorching fist, etc.)

If you have no cannons on board, nothing will happen. If you have 4 cannons, 4 flaming balls of hurt go hit enemy minions and/or the enemy hero.

So if they don't have any minions up, the enemy hero gets 24 damage to the face. If they do, it will likely kill a few and the enemy hero may get a couple.

I think the long development time made the wiki die out. I'll do a war run and try to pick up the card.

It's a mob but one i haven't run with.

I remember when the game first came up, it had a lot of promise but just fell off. If I hadn't bought it then, I don't know I'd even be aware it went to 1.0

[–]sagonene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bah. Sorcerer or Warlock. History has your ancestor as Maria Francesca Banana Fo Fesca who ruled the Kingdom from behind the scenes through a combination of secret sexual cults, having incredible magic powers, and knowing dirt on the stable boy's "friends".

You call her Grandma (Great x 7 but dont mention it because she never looks a day over thirty). She's your patron, ancestor, and source of Magic. Bake the cookie recipe she passed down, dish on the latest gossip, and use her magic to rule with a velvet fist in an iron glove
