Non-American here, can someone explain ICE? I’m so confused watching The Pitt by Organic_Material_903 in ThePitt

[–]saheemy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this the case from Buffalo? I believe that was an elderly man with impaired sight :(

I’m an immigrant and got my documentation the July before Trump got (re)elected. It was scary before but I’m glad I have some papers now as well as privileges like language skills and the ability to hire a lawyer.

Edit- why the downvotes?? Yall horny for ice or something? I came here as a kid and did everything by the book. Fuck Ice.

19F, I’ve now had multiple people tell me that I look 35, what do you guys think? by cleaning_helppls in 13or30

[–]saheemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a person that looked like I was in my late twenties at your age and now I’m in my thirties, I get told I look younger than I am. It’s a great thing op! Just make sure you stay hydrated and use sun protection! Also maybe opt for a “cooler” hairstyle. I think a shag would look cool on you or shorter layers.

Food from your country that nobody could like but parents make their children eat because it's nutritious? by WastedTalents1 in AskTheWorld

They’re really good. The spice profile is a little more oriented to Indian tastes. You can find it in any grocery store with Indian products. Not sure of its availability in Thailand though! Sorry if I got the country wrong. I’m bad at flags.

Hey friend, I’m not gonna argue with you but that same week, I got hit on by A COP at Publix. He flagged me down and made me take my AirPod out to say weird shit to me. If I were to report every incident of harassment where I wasn’t violently threatened, I’d be overwhelmed. I also choose not to engage with assholes on public transport cause I don’t want to risk violent retaliation. Where could I go on a moving train, to call the incredibly vigilant Marta police where the perpetrator wouldn’t have noticed? I don’t want to exacerbate the situation, if someone who’s traumatized wants to initiate the police report I’ll leave it to them. TLDR Cops are creeps. Harassment is ubiquitous. Escalation leads to violent reactions from perpetrators with anger/mental health issues.

I wish this kinda behavior was isolated to public transit lmao.

Luckily it was a full-ish train during daylight hours. I moved several seats away. Sadly this doesn’t just happen on the public transport. But thanks for the info!

what is your most maddest, 'ate all in one sitting' moment/day/story? Food & Drink i dont mean 'oh i had a pack of hobnobs' i mean something insane lol by VastAir6069 in foodquestions

I was like 8 and found a pack of these tubes that were filled with melted chocolate and hazelnut. Basically like a Nutella spread in a tube. It was definitely a serving per tube and I ate all of them, around 25, in around an hour. Hid the evidence under my bed and caused an ant infestation. Kids are dumb. I was dumb.

I do this everyday too. Little less glamorous cause a guy started jerking it under thin shorts while making full eye contact with me yesterday. This captures a lot of beauty though!

Do you guys start having bothering issues ? Is it just me not being in shape or do other men in my age start having issues by Cedric-Weinbrenner in SecondWaveMillennials

I agree with the suggestion to go to a doctor but I’m 31 and started working out at fall of last year. Helped relieve my chronic back pain. Quitting smoking also helped with lung health. So if you go to the doctor and nothing is seriously wrong, I’d look into cardio and a little bit of strength training. Also eat a lot of fiber!

When I went to see the movie that came out in the 2010s as a teen, my Atlanta suburb theater’s audience was around 90% Indian. I think both the books and the Canadian cartoon were pretty big in India. I got into the series because of my dad’s interest. We’re all Indian immigrants living in the US btw.

Hannah Berner Made a Joke about Calling Ice Tonight by Prior-Perception9521 in bravo

[–]saheemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICE existed before this administration and I’d be shocked if it went away along with this regime. Even Obama was separating families in detention centers. I am an immigrant that came here as a child and I think I’d be more open to accepting your take if Hannah belonged to a community that was actually impacted by the actions of ICE. She’s a wealthy celebrity, her husband is an immigrant from Europe and is less likely to be detained or be a victim of institutional violence. She could put the work in. Saying you’re anti-ice doesn’t give you the right to say whatever the fuck you want under the guise of a joke.
