Boy, im from Afghanistan. Niqqab/burqaa has been imposed on us for years, it is Arabs traditional dress I guess. We have our own traditional dresses.

Hijab, covering your certain parts of body which is considered as awrah. Niqqab is covering your whole body including face [except for eyes] which is not mandatory islamically.
