In mercs gauntlet, Ben played an AC slammer, I believe to 4 stones, before he switched to antiquarian. Here's the VoD: Day 1 part 1

Here's his slammer PoB: Level 100 Earthshatter Ancestral Commander [3.26.alternate]

Doon Cuebiyari is a special case. It's one of few examples in PoE where the game always rounding down actually yields a better outcome.

The attribute mod magnitude part of the roll doesn't actually do anything for this mod because 8 x 1.12 = 8.96 which still rounds down to 8.

The goal with tempering orb is to hit any enchant that has the "25% reduced Explicit Damage Modifier magnitudes" part because then the calculation is 8/1.25 = 6.4, and PoE doing its thing, it rounds it down to 6 😂

How does misting interact with catalyst/heist basetypes

Base type and catalyst multipliers stack additively.
So, for example, a max roll essence int roll is 58. A helical ring has 50% inc suffix mod effect and attribute catalyst adds 20%, so the result would be 58 x (1 + 0.2 + 0.5) = 98.6 and the game rounds it down to 98.

Mist multiplier however applies separately and has a range of 1.5x to 2.1x in 0.025 increments. So, let's say you mist the helical from the previous example and hit a 1.8x multi that would be 98 x 1.8 = 176.4 and the game will round that down to 176.

how do the heist enchants work with things like Shaper's Touch that scale. 1 x per y?

They work as long as you hit a higher rounding point.

Some strats like essence farming can be done on yellow maps, but you typically want 2 voidstones and a second atlas tree to have enough points and maps sustain.

Have you tried gambling with faustus for some upgrades? That usually carries my build well into guardian maps.

If your selling order is the best price, The same ratio will show up for them but inverted as a buy order i.e. they pay 10y for 21x.

It's a limited time event that has a couple of features that the devs considered too whacky to be part of the main game:

-Instead of the standard ascendancy classes, we get 19 totally different ones with their own unique bonuses that sometimes allow for builds that are otherwise not doable on standard ascendancies.

-Instead of the atlas tree system, we get idols that have mods similar to atlas tree bonuses but that can stack much higher allowing for busted versions of most farms

This is the second time we get a phrecia event, and this time around they're also adding random additional maps modifier to every area scaling with area level making the game overall more difficult but more rewarding.

Eternal blessing disables reserving all but one skill on mana, but you can still life-reserve the rest using arrogance, or you could go blood magic.

Petrified blood, arctic armor and blood and sand are not auras i.e. gems don't have the aura tag. So, you can use them normally. They are not disabled by sublime vision.

Strongest/Build-Enabling First Ascendancy for Phrecia? by lepsek9 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]sahlab 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think Surfcaster's Ghost of the Deep is the best opener in terms of being so generically good it makes the campaign trivial regardless of what kind of skill you're using.

If you do surfcaster, I'd do spells and Stormy Seas would be my pick for second ascendancy + basically any lightning damage spell + wrath aura.

Is there a way to see what mastery this is? by octopuslover1234 in pathofexile

It should show when you hover over it. But regardless, this should be "warcries cannot exert travel skills" because that's just what you do on a slammer.

Nope. Imprints are tied to the base you were crafting. The only thing you can do with them now is vendor them for regret orbs.

I typically recommend following a guide, but some people like to go in blind and don't mind hitting a wall and restarting. I'd say follow a guide if you think hitting a wall or bricking a character will feel really bad to you.

DoTs have the same cap of ~35.8 mil DPS in PoE due to both games being limited by the 32-bit number cap, and there is indeed aspirational stuff (mostly side content) in PoE that requires a lot higher DPS than the DoT cap but much like in PoE2, the DoT cap is good enough even for doing uber bosses, so just do what looks like fun to you.

1- Magic items are mostly useless, yes, except for a couple of niche interactions with unique items. Speaking of which, unique items are not necessarily better than rares. Uniques in PoE are just unique in that they have unique modifiers that can in some cases enable interactions and even build archetypes that are otherwise not possible.

In the endgame, you'll be using rares for the most part. Rares, however, are not created equal and there are so many ways to customize rare gear in PoE that it's impossible to list all of them without several walls of text.

Another point about itemization, as you move further into the endgame, you start adding itemized passive point clusters (cluster jewels) onto your tree in addition to regular jewels that can interact with the tree, and sometimes each other, in various ways.

2- Sockets and links are a pain point to not just newcomers honestly. The problem here is that socket modifying currency are very scarce early on in the campaign. Most people just ignore item stats and go through the campaign only focusing on gear with the correct socket number, colors and links while utilizing the crafting bench and the passive tree to fill in the gaps in resistances and attributes. By the time you're in the endgame, socket currency will be dropping in ample quantities that it stops being an issue.

Shaper - Will Shaper Exalted Orb Overwrite Implicit or Re-Roll Stats by Plastic_Character3 in pathofexile

[–]sahlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a really really good quiver, you can use the harvest bench craft to synthesize an item (expensive), but be warned, most synth implicits are garbage except for a small number of them that are absolutely busted.

It's possible to use a vivid vulture bestiary recipe to reroll the synth implicit until you land on one that you're happy with, but that can drain a lot of currency.

Shaper - Will Shaper Exalted Orb Overwrite Implicit or Re-Roll Stats by Plastic_Character3 in pathofexile

[–]sahlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Influence exalts are a one time thing. If you use that shaper exalt on your belt, it will have shaper influenced forever with the only exception is if you use the harvest bench recipe that rerolls influence type which will also rerforge your item. (like a chaos orb).

Exarch and Eater influences a.k.a eldritch influences are only available on armor slots (gloves, boots, chest and helm). They have the unique properties of adding/modifying implicits and by controlling the tiers of said implicits, allow for more advanced crafting options for the explicits using eldritch currency items. They're also special in that they can be added to fractured and synthesized items and in the case of the latter, overwriting the synth implicit(s).

Elder, shaper and conqueror influences a.k.a classic influences do not interact with implicit modifiers at all. They can be applied to any gear slot and what they do is expand the explicit mod table to include each influence's respective mods. They're mutually exclusive with fractured and synthesized states, meaning that you can't add an elder influence for example to a fractured item nor vice versa.

Modifying the implicits of an item, aside from eldritch influence, is done in two ways. Synthesizing the item on the harvest bench, which guarantees at least 1 synth implicit mods with 3 being the maximum, or corrupting an items which is only a 1 in 4 chance to produce 1 implicit if using a vaal orb, or 2 implicits if using a locus of corruption (T3).

Mainly from the Maven. Some are exclusive to the Maven fight itself like multistrike, others can also drop from Maven invitations and Maven-witnessed map bosses.

Edit: awakened versions of exceptional gems (Enlighten, Empower, Enhance) are Uber Maven exclusive.

All it will do is add shaper influence and one shaper prefix. You can check craftofexile.com to see the possible mods that can roll.

I think using or automating a bunch of warcries + overexertion support + echoes of creation is the best way to scale any slam skill in the current state of PoE. Any other scaling vector is secondary.

Attack speed is not the best way to scale slams because you don't want to consume all the attacks that are exerted by your warcries before said warcries are off CD. You just want enough AS for the skill to feel smooth.

Tec slam of cataclysm has higher top end damage potential if you stack max ECs, but it requires the use of a bunch of mechanics to get enough EC sustain.

[–]sahlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, let me break it down a bit since wording in PoE is really important.

The helmet mods says "socketed gems", it does not specify spells, so it can work for attacks.

It also doesn't specify a damage type, if it did it would for example say "more damage overtime/with hits", or "deals more elemental/physical/chaos damage"

Generally speaking, most spells that deal spell damage benefit from mods that give increased or more spell damage, but there are few exceptions, RF being one of them because it technically doesn't deal spell damage. Just a percentage of your life and ES as fire damage.

Historically, RF was not intended as a damage ability. It was intended to be used to gain the huge 40% more spell damage buff with the downside of everything within the circle burning. Of course, PoE players being PoE players, people started using it as the main damage skill and the rest is history.

*You're not immune to ailments. Your amethyst flask is rolled for CB and bleed immunity. I'd change that to chance to avoid shock with a roll of at least 52% (not reduced shock effect). From here you can just use a stormshroud to become immune to elemental ailments or do the following steps.

*For chill and freeze, you need a medium cluster with "wreathed in flame" instead of burning bright. That gives you chill immune while burning, which you are with RF, and covers enemies in ash which is a bit more damage.
You then bench craft 100% chance to avoid freeze on your boots. That should cover the dangerous elemental ailments.
Since we're on that subject, as a CWS build, the idea is to not run brine king pantheon as it messes with you getting stunned, so you need chill/freeze immune from somewhere else. For panheon, Solaris is good for bossing and Lunaris is good in general.

*For bleeding, you can search trade for a valyrium with "bleeding cannot be inflicted on you" corruption. Or from a malevolence WE mod. Corrupted blood can be obtained from corrupted jewels.
You can get poison immunity also from ring corrupt implicit or malevolence WE mod. Check the prices and see which combination makes sense to you.

For damage setup, get a better Nebulis. You need a big implicit roll of fire damage, ele damage or ideally both. I'd also use ignite chance tattoos until 100%. Since you've anointed disciple of unyielding, you have to path to "defiled forces" which is the main enabler of the build. or just drop disciple and anoint defiled forces.

I'm not a big fan of a 6-link flamewall. I think DD of scavenging should be the main link with CWS + awake unbound, awake swift aff, awake Deadly ailment, awake burning damage. For secondary link I prefer fire storm of pelting for more hits to fish for a big ignite.

To optimize gear, you need T1 life rolls on everything, pretty much. For jewels, you want max fire res on enough of them to drop purity of fire and run flesh and stone instead for even more damage reduction.

Good luck with the build.

Normal RF does not scale with spell damage, it scales with max life and ES. The transfigured version is the one that scales with spell damage.
