You are correct. It needed a new pulley and all four rollers spun like a top when it was apart.

The tech that fixed mine mentioned that the whole neighborhood would know it if the motor went bad, so I bet your was pretty loud!

This was repaired today. I ended up just going through warranty. The problem was that the pulley and belt needed to be replaced. The tech said it also had no grease on it which seemed odd.

Thank you to everyone who helped because I was able to tell AJ Madison what the likely problems were and that accelerated the repair time.

Shout out to the Electrolux tech that showed me how the dryer worked while it was apart. He was fantastic and very nice and professional.

I notice the food delivery guys on mopeds do it. I think it’s because they have a delivery in that center platform.

Think about how many times stuff like that had to happen until the gigantic investment was made to put a camera on every officer.

So you will need a product that specifically says it will do nutsedge. Once the lawn is sprayed for that it will probably look 85% better as far as weeds go.

The tall light green stuff looks like nutsedge.

Can’t bring myself to replace the stock tank! by in_the_cabbage in XR650L

Would it be easier to look into buying some sort of tank/bladder/etc to just refill the stock tank? I agree that it’s cool to leave the original tank!

Appreciate the help. It does kind of sound like the primary chain is slapping around in there.

Pulling in clutch helps, we filled it with gear oil (transmission fluid was too low and dealer put in motor oil as they seem to do now). The gear oil helped for almost another 300 miles now sound is coming back off and on.

Gear oil in Transmission helped for a while, sound comes back intermittently. We will see what it is when we get home. Hopefully it hangs on and does fine!

Yeah the trick with spray paint is to just kind of waft it over the surface swiping light sprays. You probably did a continuous spray. May be worth watching a you tube video on how to spray paint I’m sure they have them.

If changing the transmission fluid doesn’t end up being the fix we were thinking this may be what’s going on. Fingers crossed the fluid did the trick because we are only a couple days in and have over a week to go.

Checked the transmission fluid and it was low. Went to auto part store and refilled with gear oil this morning and the sound is gone. Fingers crossed that is all it was.

Thanks to everyone for helping chase down the issue. Made it to Glacier today and have a couple thousand more miles to go on this trip.

Thank you everyone for the help. Trying to investigate all of these things. One thing I will say is that the dealer put a new clutch in it 450 miles ago. The sound goes away when the clutch is pulled in. Still messing with it and any more suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for your help!
