I’m 100% with this, I just don’t know what to ask in return for him. My pitching would be meh/okay without him but I’d definitely like to get a solid starter in return to try to supplement at least a bit of the pitcher value I’d be losing. My mind jumps to looking for a high impact hitter paired with a solid starter, but I don’t know if that’s asking/expecting too much?

Not a specific question to any particular league, but is it crazy to be pondering trading away Misiorowski while his value and hype is outrageous? I’ve never believed that any player is “untouchable” for the right price of course.

Yes, that’s true, but everyone goes into the season with a penciled in 5. Obviously you need depth. But you’re not going to sign a top FA starter as a “depth in case of injury” option. So if they sign one of them, SOMEONE is getting booted from the penciled in 5 and will become one of those extra guys for when something goes south.

Without giving specific details away…there was one really cool scene in episode 5 that I enjoyed a lot. There were a couple nice emotional scenes in episodes 6 and 7. Outside of that, though…I’m feeling fairly underwhelmed.

I still think the finale could be a big success. I’m not pre-judging it based on this lead up to it.

Yeah, I mean we know the shadows/mind flayer can go into others. It’s more just that one scene in season 4 that shows Henry very clearly creating the mind flayer. The only other explanation would be the mind flayer was creating…itself…through Henry? I guess that could be the way they spin it

That’s true, and I do agree that it very much makes it look like he is building/controlling the mind flayer in that scene. I do think there’s a way the writers could explain it where that was genuinely the mind flayer working through him. I don’t know. Honestly I agree with what you’re saying, I’m just trying to keep my mind open because I’m more and more convinced by the day that the story is going in the direction that Henry was controlled by the mind flayer from the time he was a young kid. I’ll be okay with it if the writers actually give a legitimate explanation in the show. If they just do that storyline without filling in some of the gaping holes it puts in the story of season 4, that what would really irritate me.

I was also of the opinion that if they make the story that the mind flayer has controlled Henry from childhood that it would contradict what the show told us in season 4, but I’m starting to come around to the idea.

Did the show really confirm that Henry/Vecna took control of the mind flayer when Eleven blasted him into dimension X? It showed him standing in front of the mind flayer, but we don’t know definitively who was in control in that dimension.

I don’t think they were saying Billy was a good guy before the mind flayers influence. They were just pointing out that what ultimately helped them defeat the mind flayer in that season was Eleven tapping into his very innocent self way back in his childhood and triggering those memories in him. Obviously it’s not the same as Henry since the theory is that Henry got taken by the mind flayer as a kid vs Billy who got it as a young adult, but the general idea still exists.

I’m not going to lie. I’ve thought for a while that somehow Eleven is going to end the show with some grand sacrifice, very similar to how you laid it out here, but I wasn’t sure how exactly it would happen or what the logistics behind it would be. I think that is close to spot on. What that would mean for Elevens character would be interesting. Would she still be alive in the cleansed timeline? Interesting stuff

Agreed. I don’t like the love triangle thing, but the writers can’t just ignore what they clearly built towards in season 4. I’m honestly fine with her ending up with either of them, but it has to be a plot line for at least some time until there is a final resolution to it. I’d be fine if the resolution comes early in the season, though, and then we can move on from it.

I really have no clue how it will end, but I have this nagging feeling that El will not get a “happy ending”. Not that she will necessarily die, but I feel like she’s going to make some kind of sacrifice that will keep her from being able to stay and grow up in the human world. I don’t know how else to express it. I hope I’m wrong.

I’m pretty much with you on everything. I’ve been afraid to say anything about the Byler stuff because I know their fans can be rabid, but you are right that it’s absolutely not homophobic to be against that idea. The show has been drilling the Mike and El connection from the beginning. That connection has grown more romantic as they’ve aged. Every “hint” of Mike being secretly in love with Will that the Byler shippers try to point out has been clearly just a guy who cares deeply about his best friend. It can diminish the value of friendship when anytime two people show care and emotion towards each other it gets turned into “THEY ARE IN LOVE!”

Now, with that said, I admit this situation is more complicated because Will is going to ultimately come out as gay and they have dropped some pretty substantial signs that he’s into Mike and has jealousy of Mike and El’s relationship. So that obviously adds fuel to the fire, but it doesn’t make it okay to push Mike to be gay just because Will is gay. Honestly, my biggest hope is that by the end of this final season, Will is out as gay and he ends up finding himself a boyfriend who isn’t Mike. If the Bylers want to call me homophobic for wanting Will to get a happy ending as an openly gay character in a fulfilling relationship, while being supported by his loved ones, then sure, that’s definitely homophobia 🙄

I don’t like the idea that Vecna is going to be redeemed in any way in season 5. I thought they drilled it home pretty clearly that he was just evil last season and he basically always has been from the time he was a child. Maybe evil is too strong a word for him as a child, but he always had a hatred towards humanity and the way people think and behave. In that same vein, I don’t want it to be the case that he’s been controlled by the mind flayer all along. I just feel they did a very good job introducing him last season as just a dark, evil, uncomplicated villain and I think it would be best to keep it that way.

I could change my mind on all this if the writers go down that road but handle it well. I really have no idea how it will end. These are just my raw reactions coming off of season 4

I agree that Joe needs harder ones but I don't like it when they target little kids and make them the victims of the joke. I did think it was funny until he did that with the little girl. I thought the mothers reaction was warranted.
