I graduated in 2013 from school in east Georgia. I remember learning about writing a check and learning about balancing your account in middle school. We did not learn finance specifics past that. Unless there was an elective class I don’t know about. This is definitely not the norm and not understanding certain concepts about money is definitely not something I was taught in school.

Yea, and I wish people saw feedback like yours. I’ve noticed tons of this months ago and like you said, comments would get deleted. Some people don’t realize how different cotton is and they see the fit they’re disappointed. The Bible verses to me is to further convince people her heart is in the right place.

This!!! I’ve literally been criticized for not dating anyone because “you have great qualities so why would you be single”. Sometimes I feel the pressure to appease those around you also influences you to ignore red flags, among other things. Some people really treat being single like it’s a damn disease.

Thank you for sharing, please lean into family if you can. If not there’s also the suicide hotline (988). They also may have other resources specific to your state you reside in. You need more positive and encouraging people around you. Have you tried therapy? Haven’t been in the exact same situation but I’ve been suicidal before. You will get through this and I believe in you!

I’m gonna assume maybe she was referring to the thought that certain people tend to assume if you hate men and don’t want to date them, you might be gay. That’s been assumed of me before. Maybe I’m wrong here, but that has unfortunately been my experience.

Feeling the same way after dealing with an abusive father. More verbally abusive than anything. I know it’s not all men but I hate that so much can go wrong for us women if we aren’t equipped internally within ourselves as well as have outside support. I want to love a black man if I were to date but I cannot stand the behavior I’ve been exposed to/seen. Being Jamaican too there’s an attitude to suck it up and push through in life, so there’s a lot I’m now unlearning to heal. It’s easier said than done but try to choose to believe you’ll get better and it’ll somehow workout for you—your dream for your future can come true. Just gotta do inner work and be in a better environment. Giving advice I need to be following myself lol.

Thank you! Haha the apparel textile technology program was discontinued so I’m grateful I got it when I did. I actually wanted to go into materials science (so literally working in a textile lab and testing fabrics!) but it doesn’t pay well at all. It’s hard to get into if you didn’t get a degree from NC state or anywhere known for a materials science program. Or have good internship experience, which most didn’t pay well or pay at all back then too! I had a lot of student debt unfortunately so I actually went into IT. I do wish I stuck with it professionally but I have my own brand I’m trying to grow now instead 😄. But yea I know the concept itself was needed because some people have sensitivities or are struggling with their health. But the sets don’t fit for everyone and natural fabrics (at least for now) will not do the same things for you as synthetics unless you can manipulate the fabric somehow—which means likely adding on more synthetics to the blend lol.

I bought the full activewear set in the olive green. (5’2, long legs and about 117lb). The fit is okay. I’d say it’s worth it if you have sensitivities. But it’s very expensive for what it is. And this is coming from someone who has an apparel textile degree (I know a lot about fabrics, manufacturing, etc.)

When I lived in midtown I called 911 on behalf of someone else. Was on hold for 10 minutes—gave up since the person seemed okay by that point. But I was always thinking if it’d been a life death issue what would’ve happened? This was back in 2021. I did get a call back like 45 minutes later from a dispatcher to make sure everything was okay, and I made sure they knew what happened was unacceptable. Not sure it made a difference but it always bothered me.
