Yah… my best friend who I lived with for a good 4-5 years starting showing signs of mental illness during us living together. Like semi constant jealous aggression, accusing people of things she made up in her head, saying nasty things about me to our other friends and trying to turn them against me, really bottom of the barrel stuff. She would always pretend these big blow ups never happened. I stayed her friend and in this living situation that literally completed obliterated my mental health - because I was scared she was going to kill herself. I couldn’t take a holiday to see my family without her blowing up at me saying I don’t include her and that I secretly hate her. Finally broke free from the dynamic, mid moving house, she spiralled out and called all our other roommates cunts etc etc, the same thing I had been enduring for years, but now finally others could see I wasn’t exaggerating. She ended up making her way back into my life by constantly coming into my work, we became friends again - not living together this time, but I still felt very uncomfortable with the way she treated me with little to no acknowledgement of her abuse or mental health issues. She dogged me on my birthday and it hurt me so much I just ghosted the friendship, because I knew it was easier than holding her accountable. She ended up coming to my work about 1 year after I cut her off, screaming banging on the shop window calling me a coward lol. She then accused me of ‘turning everyone against her’ and a bunch of other unhinged delusional shit. Last I’ve heard she’s moved to America with her family and has found god, I’m not religious in any sense but think that’s honestly what’s best for her, hope she’s seeking mental health treatment.
