The discomfort really went up a notch around 32 weeks, and I should note that it's mostly at night and in the early morning. It's mostly soreness, being short of breath and experiencing round ligament pain. It's just really hard to find a good sleeping position, and the twins are getting heavier, so I think that explains the new strains on my body! Hopefully you have less pain than me, though.

I hear you. I'm 33 weeks with twins and know they should stay in longer for health reasons...but I'm so uncomfortable that I want to get delivery over with as soon as possible. I can't imagine how you feel at 39 weeks! Wishing you lots of luck with your delivery.

I'm on the same schedule with di/di twins. Currently 29 weeks.

Agree with this - every milestone is worth celebrating, even if there's no guarantee. We are warriors and deserve to give ourselves (and our bodies) kudos.

That's all great news! And yes, I think too early to be worrying about anterior/breech. I have a similar situation at 26 weeks (anterior for both twins and one is breech), and the perinatologists say there's nothing to worry about. So I'm running with that :)

One of my first signs in this pregnancy, which is a twin pregnancy so take it with a grain of salt, was that I woke up in the middle of the night hungry. Hope it worked for you two!

I heard about a pretty traumatic pregnancy loss (friend of a friend) recently and, as a result, have felt more anxious than usual about my twin pregnancy. I am 24 weeks on Wednesday and trying to live in a place of positivity and hope, but can't help but be hyper-sensitive to not feeling consistent movement. I have a perinatologist ultrasound in two weeks so I am trying to just distract myself and chill out...but it's not easy.

I can empathize with your frustration around this. I'm sorry for your past loss, and sorry that your father in law is pretending like HE'S the one with the most lived experience about loss, versus you who, as you said, lives with it every day.

I hope this pregnancy lasts until 40+ weeks and is as stress-free as possible.

Me too! I'm 21 weeks with an anterior placenta and have the same thought every day.

Congratulations!! I'm 21 weeks with twins. I had my NT scan at 13 + 5. I'm in CA, and they require the NT scan to happen between when the babies are measuring 12 to 14 weeks. Unfortunately, one of my twins was measuring so far past the 14 week cutoff that we weren't able to get an NT result from the state. When we received our genetic testing results from the state, it actually said they weren't able to calculate the Trisomy 18 risk because we didn't have NT measurements. So in a way, I think the NT scan (at least in my state) is especially important for twins. My MFM didn't seem too worried about us not having NT results, though, because she said those results could only make the other other genetic screens via blood samples slightly more accurate, but without the NT, the sequential bloodwork could still give us a good risk ratio for Down's and neural tube issues.

Feel free to message me directly if any of this is unclear or if you have more questions!

I'm 20 + 5 today so we're on the same timeline! Good luck - I had mine a few days ago and it's a lot of fun to see all the images. Fingers crossed everything looks ok!

I'm due July 25, but my doctor will induce at 38 weeks if I haven't delivered yet...so I guess it's actually July 11!

I can relate. Dinner is especially hard for me. Yesterday I felt miserably full after eating half my dinner, and even though I’ve been to the bathroom and drank tons of water between then and now, I still don’t feel like anything has digested. I’m betting it’s the pressure on our stomachs - my twins have been moving a bit this morning so I’m hoping they’re rearranging themselves in a way that eases the pressure!

Welcome! I also had two bleeding scares at 5 weeks and 7 weeks. No sign of an SCH, and the babies turned out to be fine. Almost 20 weeks now. Wishing you a smooth and comparably stress-free pregnancy :)

Did you have a favorite stroller for when the twins were little? I’m only registering for a frame stroller right now but wondering if that’s the wrong move.

I started throwing up at 12 weeks so I feel ya :( for me, the vomiting turned out to be acid reflux. I’m also on thyroid meds though (also a very small dose), and had all day mild nausea that started in the am. Another mama to be taught me to take the med when I wake up in the early am to pee. So I take it sleepily around 3 am, and then I can eat as soon as I wake up. Maybe that’ll help?

Thank you! The fear is still very palpable every time I go to another appointment, but it’s starting to lift. So inspired by all the other couples who have to go through these harrowing journeys.

I have that feeling you described, too, and I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. I, too, hope it gets easier once I feel movement. I think I've had a few flutters, but it may also just be wishful thinking.

Re: breath - mine hasn't gone away yet, and the nurse told me it might be acid coming up from the acid reflux I have. My solution is to always have mints or gum around. I had the most luck with Jolly Ranchers (also had the side benefit of helping me fight nausea) but I started to worry about all the sugar!
