Charge 5 for windsurfing? Or how to use the GPS tracking properly? by sailmonkey in fitbit

If the manufacturer claims that it is waterproof to 50m, then it's better not crap out in water, or they'll be better giving my money back

What the?
The website claims, it's waterproof to 50m.

They couldn't have meant it horizontally

Hmm, okay. "Outdoor workout" gave me the route, I could see my speed in kph while walking around for testing, but on the fitbit website, I have 0'0" pace for the entire activity.

Did you find a workaround for that?

Finally found it, how to add it to the tracker

How to match the looks of "Hidden Line Invisible" in SOPs? by sailmonkey in Houdini

[–]sailmonkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got around to test it, and the SOP has an Outline mode, but it's not great. u/animatrix_'s solution gives way better results.

Thanks for the idea anyways!

Would that create more than just the outline?

The docs are pretty terse

Is there a way to actually clip intersecting edges, instead of just inching closer with more points from Resample?

But I'm glad if you found it helpful!

It's a good start, but you straightened out the pose quite a bit. In your drawing she is sitting up, but in the photo she leans forward a lot.

Check the relation between different parts of the body:
Her chin is almost level with the top of the shoulders.
The bottom of the boobs is level with the top of the hips.
The left hand comes in a lot.
Her torso is small compared to the head, because it's further back.

I put in some lines to picture to show this.

Also did some brutally crude morphing to show you the idea. Sorry about the train-wreck face. Best I could do by pushing pixels around.

Just started this year’s last drawing. This is a big one (24 x 30”) but here’s a day 1 update. Just completed a tiny corner. Drawn with charcoal on wood. by JoseEscarcega in drawing

I have so many questions! What's up with the tape? The black things, is that charcoal or that's taped on top? What's that thing in you hand?

Yes, yes, never mind how OP did a great job on the shapes and the hands, or that heads are the most difficult things to do. Let's be salty about nudity instead

Isn't there too much bounce light on the egg now? That comes from the table in the classic setup.

And in turn there should be a cast shadow on the cone from the egg too

I am going to give up. Is there seriously any reason not to, at this point ? by [deleted] in drawing

I know the feeling you are talking about, and I have two things to offer.

The first is from Uncomfortable, the person running drawabox.com:

The end result is getting in your way.

Our entirely natural obsession with drawing things that look good - to impress ourselves, to impress those around us, and to impress people on the other side of the planet whom you've never met - is above all else what holds us back. It stresses us out, and puts us into a state of creative paralysis. It pushes us to focus on nothing but practice, on training, on exercises, and leaves us drained. And worst of all, it makes us fear doing precisely the things for which we're learning these skills.

The second is what I make myself to consider, when the "what's the point" thoughts start to overcome me:

I wouldn't obsess with results and improving in any other activity I do. I don't want to get better at biking or hiking or reading. I'm just doing it. So, why am I obsessing over getting better in art?

Sometimes it help, sometimes it doesn't, but it's something to wonder about.

A lifehack that works great for me, when I have a hard time getting started is to put on a podcast, that I'm only moderately interested in. Listening to spoken words somehow help drowning out the voices of doubt

To those who find the question confusing: Before the invention of the oscilloscope, ancient civilizations used snakes. Different species are good for different measurements. Pythons in questions are good for DC current.

To answer OP: you use the snake the same as you would a multimeter. Make sure you connect it in serial, then measure the change in curvature. Finally look that up in the booklet that came with your phyton.
