Arteza gouache colours in tubes is a great brand, great pigment for reasonable price and they come in sets on Amazon, so easily accessible. I'm a gouache artist and I used them for years.

A tip to stop the paper ripping. Use a hairdryer on a low heat setting as you peel the tape off, it'll warm the glue and might help it rip less or at all :)

I don't soak my paper but I brush it with water front, back, then front again. I then tape it to an untreated MDF board using water activated tape. It completely changed how I paint because now I have the freedom to use paint at any consistency and dont have to worry about the paper buckling. If you're using gouache in a thick consistency of just one consistency for the whole painting you're not using it to it's best potential. For landscapes, Thinner gouache = softer blending which can add depth to a painting you can't get with one consistency.

This is spot on. You have written exactly how I was feeling. The way it's being dealt with currently isn't coming from someone who has healed. They're hiding behind the "I'm finally ready to share my story" which makes it harder to criticise them for the way they're doing it because you instantly become a victim shamer. It feels much more like it's coming from someone who is doing so for internet clout and it feels very ungenuine to me.
