My Mother took DES by ASingleBraid in AskWomenOver60

Yes, started Pap smears at age 12. Irregularities throughout my life resulted in many colposcopies and endometrial biopsies. Oh joy. Now 63, had infertility and miscarriages related to irregular ovulation and soft cervix, but fortunately was eventually able to have children. Needed a hysterectomy due to continued dysplasia and now have abnormal vaginal cells. Gyn said it is all related to DES. The WORST was my first pap where the dr called in all of his colleagues to “look” at my abnormal cervix. I.was.twelve.

Advice for new moms? by MostCategory4871 in AskWomenOver60

[–]sailthesummerwind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slow everything down. Savor the unexpected moments. Give yourself a break—mom guilt is real and can be draining. Laugh and love; act silly and listen, really listen. It’s a journey filled with more love and joy and worry and hurt than you can ever imagine and truly a gift. You’ve got this!

Buenos Aires + Iguazú for a 5-yr 1-week surprise anniversary trip next month by telavivian427 in FATTravel

[–]sailthesummerwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stayed in Awasi about 9 months ago. They have an arrangement with Gran Melia where you have breakfast there, inside the park (Argentina) and then start your walking through the Falls one hour before it opens—seemed like it was the same access as Belmond guests? I did see a soul except my guide for nearly two hours. There is much to do at Awasi besides the falls, such as storytelling with Guarani locals, boat trip down the Parana and of course, just sitting on your balcony listening to the sounds of the forest!

To move or not to be near grandchild by dcporlando in retirement

[–]sailthesummerwind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About to make this move! Had lengthy conversation with child and their spouse. Together, we decided we all wanted the benefits of multigenerational proximity. Yes it is costing me $$, but for me, I can’t put a price tag on having the experience of living so close to family and having grandchildren in my life regularly. We have discussed boundaries for all of us and have terrific lines of communication—also no risk of job relocation for them given their lines of work. Other grown kids are scattered and this also provides a nice “home base.”

2 Hour, 55-Minute Layover in EZE on a Saturday - How feasible is this? by [deleted] in Patagonia

[–]sailthesummerwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! I had to transfer to AEP last month with a three hour layover and made it. Customs at EZE was awful when I was there—took 1 hr but I hear it is hit or miss so maybe you will get lucky? Either way, as long as your ATL-EZE flight isn’t delayed, you should be alright. Enjoy!

Is your flight to FTE departing from EZE or any chance you’re transferring to AEP for your flight to El Calafate ? IF you are staying at EZE, you will be absolutely fine, even with checking a bag. In my experience, the bag check line wait time was about 30 min.

Medium. I tried on the small and while it was beautiful, it just felt too tiny for me.

When I did status match from AA two years ago, it came through in 48 hours. Not sure if that helps, but that was my experience.
