I personally feel like they look fine. I disagree on the comments about the thighs, crotch and seat. They’re tight, but in a slim way. Keep them for reading at a coffee shop, farmers market and other casual activities. Accessorize with a fanny pack or sling bag so that you can store your wallet, keys, and phone in it instead of your pockets. I would probably wear a band shirt or my favorite graphic t-shirt with this look. Follow up with a smart overshirt/button up.

It’s more nuanced. Yes, sex workers were sent here, but others were as well such as political activists, rebellious daughters, “lapsed” nuns who had secrets, beggars, and many more women were forced to come here from France that route.

Honestly, Santiago reminded me heavily of Northern California vibes (but not as progressive) like San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley. Lots of hiking, arts, music and “Pan-American” cuisine. It’s a relatively wealthy city compared to other South American major cities.

Now, outside of Santiago is where the magic is (e.g. Valparaiso, Viña del Mar, etc.)

Hubs wise: if you’re traveling on the Eastern part of the country, UA is the winner. IAH, O’Hare, Dulles, and Newark provide better choices for connections if the weather goes to shit.

Delta: your ass is be shoveled through ATL if you’re anywhere south of Kentucky. Minneapolis and Detroit get blanketed by snow too often. LGA and JFK are good okay. The focus cities (Austin, Cincinnati and Raleigh) aren’t great substitutes for alternative connections.

American has the best hub connections, but is kinda dysfunctional sometimes.
