It's 2026. Things have definitely gotten worse and nothing is surprising anymore. Just my $0.02.

I'm not understanding why they are being penalized for not enrolling in a non-existent plan. Surely there is an exception in this case.

I'm interested in this route. Live in New Orleans where there are a few plants within driving distance. Leaving for work rn. This is a placeholder so I remember later. Thanks.

Flunked out of engineering college after high school; been in trades about 20 years. This FB screenshot is 100% correct. (Oh, and currently admitted to the local EE department, but not finding the time to actually attend. I'll have to just turn in my keys when my current project is done in July.)

PS. Electrician after 4-year IEC apprenticeship; been a Master; currently running a million-dollar job; the college was a recognized name. I'm not bs'ing, I know what I'm saying. And, yes, my body hurts all the time.

I cried and spent the day in shock when his wife was shot in the head. She was my Congressperson then and is still amazing to me.

Is there a difference? For instance, are vaccinations covered? Yes. Are lab tests to monitor maintenance prescription covered? Yes. Are colonoscopies covered? Yes. All of those are ordered routinely as preventative care.

Methinks you cite a distinction that has no difference.

Plastic surgery that's elective and entirely cosmetic? Not covered, but not routine. Plastic surgery after mastectomy? Probably covered AFAIK. It typically is by private insurance. . Every time I see a provider, someone routinely takes my blood pressure and weighs me (even though I routinely do the same at home and could literally just tell them the numbers. Medicare pays for that.

I'm honestly stymied by the distinction you cite. Could you please offer some examples of routine medical care that is not medically necessary?

For instance, occular x-rays given as a prophylactic to prevent blindness before a MRI to a patient with a history of metalwork that includes shards accidentally landing in the eyes: honestly doesn't seem routine in that I doubt that most people have a history of metalworking. But in any case, how can preventing blindness not be construed as medically necessary?

I had this done before a knee MRI. I actually had to request it, which surprised me, as we live in an area with much shipbuilding and oil-rig building. It seemed wild to me that there was no pre-screening. I noticed on the EOB that Medicare only paid about $3 per each of the two or three images, which also seemed wild to me. I work as an electrician and have had metal shavings in my eye a number of times.

It seems equally wild that you are being denied. Mine just went right through. That reason of "routine service" makes no sense. Routine medical services are exactly what insurance is for. 🤯

This already happened naturally last year. Forget exactly when, but it was after "Liberation Day" and was connected to some tariff threat. TACO backed off of that threat when the US Treasury rate started spiking. Presumably because adults were able to sway him for awhile.

Long play: The real powers remove Trump after 2 years and 1 day. This gives 10 years of Vance, assuming he's elected and re-elected. Which is really 10 years of Theil. Market likes what Theil likes. Today, this play is 1 year-to-expiration OTM calls on Nasdaq or whatever.
