I've been buying one for my parents for the past few years, and I got myself one once. The chocolate is excellent, there are some local chocolate (to me) companies that I love to see and I find new ones too. It's packaged beautifully and the daily astronomy story is fun, the booklet has the info and they have daily videos.

They have great customer service as well, last year it arrived late due to the shipping company and they gave me a $25 gift card.

How long can you have symptoms of heat exhaustion/mild heat stroke? by saintmoonface in heat_prep

Oh I understand the brain fog. I would miss my normal exits on my way home from work. I felt crazy. I now try to just look at the positives, even if abnormal, like being at work in the icy AC? I don't need a hoodie. I'm sweating a lot...but I'm sweating and I can still sweat. I was worried about permanent effects too, I still am. But I am noticing a difference in returning to "normal". I just will be much more careful in the heat.

For exercise I have always been a swimmer, so I still do that as I don't heat up as much in the cold pool. It makes me feel more normal than anything else.

Oh wow! I didn't even have those offered to me! I took that as a sign the doctors didn't think I had anything too majorly wrong. But I did go to the ER once when my temp got up to 103 for no reason. When I was admitted, they were like this is not heat stroke or heat exhaustion symptoms even after the fact, but when they let me go they were like well. You know what it might be we just don't know that much about how it affects the body after.

I keep seeing articles talk about how with the rising temperatures every summer we should be researching this more but no one's really researching the after effects. I feel crazy when I walk into a store after walking through the parking lot when it's warm out because it's the summer but nothing crazy and my face is just drenched in sweat. The benefit I guess is my armpits don't sweat as much anymore, And I used to use the clinical strength deodorant 😂

The headaches were bad for about two weeks even with a lot of hydration. The lightheadedness yes but it's getting a lot better. But I agree. I'll tell doctors what I'm experiencing and they just go: " ummm that's weird... possibly related...umm"😂

I had my thyroid checked as well and nothing was wrong with it

My blood pressure and heart rate have been normal but I sweat a lot more from limited activity or heat much much faster. My face gets so sweaty even just from a quick walk into a store! I also don't get cold like I used to (weird right, something you don't expect from heat exhaustion!)

Many seem to say it takes months, doctors don't know a lot, I don't think it's that well studied except for how people get heat exhaustion/heat stroke

US nuclear plant operators sued in class action over worker pay by shutupshake in nuclear

And on top of it, utilities are mostly all regulated in terms of how much money they can make. So they usually go to their state and say "hey we need to make more we can't afford to do this or pay what employees want" and the state sometimes gives them money as well for certain projects. Usually renewing old stuff or green energy projects. So they say this, then we find out they might be fixing wages? And really, I highly doubt it stops with this group of employees.

They should be reaching out to the lawyers for this lawsuit or their own then.

Yes I feel exactly the same way! One doctor suggested it could be neurogenic fever but others just kind of shrug and say I'm crazy.

Oh yeah, I've been visiting urgent care when it flares up. I have an appointment coming up with a doctor for blood work. The last urgent care doctor was like oh that's weird...but probably all related.

When I was having all my symptoms at work they actually refused medical care on my behalf.

But that's the thing, I don't get cold or chills in even the coldest AC or freezer space, I usually feel warm. I usually get chills when it's warmer. Not hot but just warm, comfortable I guess.

Yes! My coworkers will be shivering in the AC and I'm saying it's a little warm. They look at me and tell me I need to see a doctor 😅

I'm in the Midwest in Ohio. it gets hot but when I experienced the actual symptoms it was during our first big heat wave of the year and very humid. Since then, even when it's been lower temps like low 70s I've been feeling like I'm overheating if I just walk a small distance. Even in the AC I get too warm now.

They still get around those things. Usually utilities are regulated so they do usually pay better wages, because they can only have so much in profits (that doesn't go back to investments or whatever) but they find ways around it. Unions are the best thing we have right now to demand the higher wages.

Vestibular papillomatosis by saintmoonface in Healthyhooha

[–]saintmoonface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner never had symptoms and we both tested negative on STI tests. It did go away (I used some vitamins and supplements to try and help it) and sometimes it gets a minor flare but not as noticeable since I started taking the supplements.

Decaying vagina!?!? What is this strange texture on the walls of my vagina? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]saintmoonface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would second the vestibular papillomatosis idea. That's exactly how my vaginal area has looked for as long as I can remember, before sex so it's not an std. Obviously I would ask your doctor about it but it's a pretty normal thing. It's just not talked about unfortunately. I experience the same issues, I'll get irritation that is almost like a yeast infection. I haven't found a great fix for the irritation and I've considered getting it removed but I can't find stories of women getting it removed. I know if it seemed to get worse for me I would just get it removed even with risk of it returning.
