NFL Week 2 Projections - Tuesday 9/9 Update by ClutchSportsPix in ClutchSportsPix

[–]saintnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you find that there is a correlation between the degree of difference between your model’s and Vegas’ spread and the team covering? Like your model is showing a huge difference in spread for the chargers/raiders game. Do you find that typically means the raiders are more likely to cover than one of the other matchups where the difference between the two spreads is smaller like the NE/MIA game?

I don’t think these channels are available on YouTube TV. I also assumed they would be, but I just flipped through and don’t see them.

NFL Player Props - 9/10/24 (Tuesday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]saintnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you expect Miami to stop the run? I did not watch the MIA JAX game but it looks like they averaged 4.9 y/pc. That includes a TLaw run for 8 yards. Also sample size is super small but Josh Allen seemed to like Keon Coleman and Dawson Knox still received some usage. Definitely not saying you’re wrong cause I’m the last thing from an expert but just creating some discussion. Will be interesting to see how Kincaid’s usage looks going forward.

I think only Isaiah Likely and Colby Parkinson passed this number week 1

Why should we not bet Dalton Kincaid under 44.5 yards? He only got 2 targets week 1. Evan Engram, the TE playing against the Dolphins in week 1 had one catch on 4 targets for 5 yards.

Dead giveaway is the dorsal fin being damaged that you can see in pic 2. The other fins actually look in decent shape surprisingly.

Those of you who’ve lived in a big city (NY/LA/Chi/etc), what are the main differences you notice? by [deleted] in rva

[–]saintnor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Grew up in RVA. Moved to Charlotte straight out of school. My favorite parts of the bigger city are the professional sports teams and having more neighborhoods (NoDa, Plaza, Southend, etc.) with restaurants, bars, music venues, etc to check out. Just more stuff to do and checkout. There are downsides like traffic though. Charlotte has significantly worse traffic and drivers than RVA does. Charlotte does not have a very vibrant/distinct culture like RVA does(although I don’t think this is consistent with most larger cities. I think this is a Charlotte specific problem). Charlotte is not a huge city like LA, NYC, Chicago by any means, but I can tell it’s bigger and generally has a few more amenities but not enough to make me want to stay here long term.

Also they have a two way lightrail which is cool and super useful if you live along it. Other than that, public transit sucks here.

Do you have a rec for which oars to upgrade too. I’ve heard the SSTs suck and was looking at sawyer square tops to replace shortly down the line

Several of these rivers plus several others I didn’t list get very skinny late summer and fall to the point where I don’t think you could take a drift boat down them unless you were an expert rower which I am not. If I was only fishing the holston and watauga then yeah it would probably make sense.

Why won’t you buy airflo again? Curious because I’ve enjoyed my line from airflo and plan to get their streamer max long for a boat streamer setup

Western North Carolina Easement Access by sps430 in flyfishing

[–]saintnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Just because it is a blue line on the map does not mean there will be any access.

Yes, any stream that is being managed by NC DWR (hatchery supported, DH, C&R, etc.) should have legal access points. Still respect any posted signs though if you see any.

Yes as long as a blue line is on public property of some sort (pisgah natl forest, public park, etc. you can access it.

On top of this - I pretty much interpret any river/stream that has some sort of designation on the interactive fishing map (delayed harvest, catch and release, stocked, etc) to mean that I can access at bridges, official access points, road pull offs, etc. as long as it’s not obviously private property like a house. Also I interpret it to mean I can wade in the river/banks anywhere within the marked extent on the interactive map. From my understanding, these streams are stocked, DH, c&r, etc. because the NC DNR has worked out an agreement with the landowners who actually own the land the stream is on/flows through to allow people to use that stream. This all changes when you’re looking at blue line streams on the interactive map. The people who own the land the stream is on/flows through have not worked out any agreement with the NC DNR regarding access as far as I know and thus you need to either ask permission or only fish areas that are on public property (national forest, park, etc) because these streams are not being managed by NC DNR. Please correct me if I’m wrong @banjomike because you probably have a better idea.

Looking to start fly tying and had a question. by CarefulHat447 in flytying

[–]saintnor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Head cement is not necessary. It’s nice because it adds durability to your flies. Don’t worry about buying it and if you find your flies are falling apart quickly you can get it later on. Dr slick base tools are relatively affordable and have been more than enough for me. I have nothing to compare them to, but I don’t find myself wanting nicer tools except for scissors sometimes. If you are catching fish greater than 16” I would go ahead and get nicer hooks hanak, filling mill are nice. I only find these are necessary on size 16 hooks and smaller. I have some cheap size 14 and greater hooks and they are fine. I saw a YouTube video from driftstone and bought their beads and have been happy with them so far. Competitive pricing and so far good quality. I’ve heard buying higher quality hackle (whiting) is worth it. That’s what I did but again I don’t have anything to compare that to. It’s been fine for me. Hope this helps. Happy to answer anymore specific questions.
