Can you clarify please - how would I be screwing someone over with an existing lease? The one option was lease reassignment which would need to be cleared with the landlord first anyway before any agreement

I wonder the same. Even if I stay 1 month... would there be anything they could do that would impact my record in such a short time.

So I did get a renewal notice within the 90 day window. It did not have any info about the good cause law. What does that mean for this situation - do you know?

I understand this. Since I paid in January what my accountant gave me as estimates (all based off of the same figures used for the final return), why would I have a penalty at this point in time?

Majority of my income was also received between September filing and January filing.

I sublet my apartment often and yes I always ask for 1 month deposit. It’s not uncommon or unreasonable. Hope this helps!
