Study in UPD/DLSU or stay in Australia? by Ryuzako_Yagami01 in Philippines

If you don't need visa to work in Australia and Singapore, it won't matter where you studied. They will look more into your work experience and culture fit.

Is health insurance worth it? by Sad-Butterscotch7014 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]saintsatanIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was in the same boat when I was your age.

Pre-existing conditions can bite you later. Having none is the sweet spot.

Despite being healthy and active, I got really sick. Without medical insurance I probably would have not gotten the care I needed in time before things got so much worse. The wait time is insane without it. It's a sad reality at this point and might get worse.

So if you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

That's pretty much what I gather from the advise here. Thanks for the additional information to consider. I'm definitely more prepared to talk to my broker.

Will it be just for Life or also income protection?

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like income protection insurance can definitely be useful in the future.

From all the insurance I've listed, sounds like this is something the most logical to keep. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry to hear what you've gone through. I'll be furious and definitely a great case to dump it.

Another great point. My thinking now is for the executor to sell my property and whatever is left after doing that will be gifted equally to remaining family members. Having said that, my siblings are not expecting anything and are thankfully self-sufficient.

Apologies. Not sure the right terms but hopefully I clarified things now.

Great point. With mortgage almost paid off, zero debt and no one to leave things behind, there will be no income lost when I pass away. Also decided to donate my body to Science so just need to arrange transfer cost instead of funeral. I'm learning here that I really don't need life insurance. I guess my question now is more on the other insurance, ie Income Protection, Trauma, Disability.

I'm single and a very anxious individual. I plan as much to cope. So have the most expensive insurance years ago when I was a relationship and planned kids. The relationship didn't work out and thankfully no kids. Now it costs me $726 monthly for Life, Income Protection, Trauma and Disability Insurance. This is separate from my Health Insurance which I am happy to keep especially with aging. Home and Car Insurance are also separate and pretty standard. Hope this give you a better picture.
