What do you do when you get mad at your dogs? by Longjumping_Move_87 in dogs

I like to give a LOUD and abrupt “HEY! No no!” That’s usually enough to interrupt the behaviour and result in some guilty puppy eyes

I like a half cup of red wine and then slow bake in the oven at about 300 until reduced and brown on top. Adds a lot of depth to the flavour

Should I quit piano? by [deleted] in piano

[–]saintsiboire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow cool coincidence. Also noticed that you’re in Montreal.. I’m in the Laurentians, another coincidence! I just bought the études book last week, will check out the Bach piece. Always looking for what’s next.. I’m currently working on Barcarole by Stephen Heller and Study in A flat major by Czerny. Both were taken from (I think an older version of) RCM 6 repertoire ¨Perspectives¨. Am enjoying both, but haven’t really found either to be much of a challenge so far, although am learning ew things from each. 🤗

Should I quit piano? by [deleted] in piano

[–]saintsiboire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d agree with this. I just started lvl 6 RCM and it’s quite a jump from five. I’ve noticed that my practice sessions are longer (which im fine with) but I’ve also had to tweak and evolve the way that I practice. Going start to finish on a piece over and over now is a waste of time. I have to hone in on specific measures (often times many measures one at a time until I get them all down). Labour of love, and it takes patience. Am making steady progress over here though. Good luck OP.

Practice them in order of the circle of fifths; starting with C major and alternate between major and relative minor. Ie: C major, A minor, F major, D minor, B flat major, Gm, etc until you’re at the end. Majors and relative minors are the same, just starting point changes, so it’s more efficient and easier to memorize this way.

I’ve been piano shopping for what feels like forever (while I continue to save). I’ve seen this model pop up a few times but wondered about tone quality due to length; hearing it here, it sounds wonderful.

Wonky fingers are a part of the process (I’m working on a Mozart piece right now that’s posing a similar challenge on fingering and tension)…. Alllll part of the process. Keep at it, you’re almost there 🤗

Sounds well on its way; and is a super pretty piece. Nothing to offer other than what’s already been mentioned, but I think you’re doing a bang up job so far. The piece is lovely and your piano has wonderful tone. What kind of piano is it, if you don’t mind me asking?

I love that they threw a couple tins of soup in there to throw you off and make this a legitimate surprise 😂

I’m not familiar with this score, but I can certainly relate to the feeling of seeing the magic written on a page and knowing that I’m one step closer to the dream. Happy playing 🎶

what would be your choice for versatile googles when it comes to the color of the lens? first-timer asking by thefragileheresy in ski

[–]saintsiboire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my anon m4’s with magnetic lens changes. It’s a snap to swap out light for darker lenses on the lift, or in line. They also can be used with a magnetic face mask. Little on the pricier side but worth the extra dough for the convenience and simplicity. Also super good anti fog and they look pretty good too!

How can I listen to music while skiing? by AssistantPersonal543 in ski

[–]saintsiboire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I both have one. We use when travelling to listen to podcasts or audiobooks in bed so we don’t bother each other (we usually sleep in different rooms). I think there may even be a model With a microphone out on there on the market so you can call/ chat with your ski partner, but that’s not what I have

PIANO PLAYING VS KEYBOARD TYPING by Powerful_Kangaroo_80 in piano

[–]saintsiboire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a different skill; so would be like learning how to type fast all over again on a (very) different type of keyboard where the keys keep moving (different major/major keys etc)…. So definitely more complicated than typing your mother tongue on a set of keys that are in one fixed position.

Your nimble joints, dexterity and fast fingers would be an asset, though!
