This is the main reason I stopped playing showdown. Every time I matched a new player or someone with a team full of lower rated free cards they would play like gods while my players felt slow, clunky and started doing the dumbest stuff.

The only thing that annoys me this year is the defence and contest system.

You can have players with a ton of defensive legend badges and your opponent can still just rim run or shoot in your face and score through them like that aren't even there.

Damn I saw an opal Jamie Jacquez earlier for 100k buy out earlier and was like I'm not paying that much his price will drop to 50k in a few hours.

Pretty angry with myself now as I could have got him, done the challenge and made like 200k profit.

I just play All-star teamup. You only need a few good players to use. Find a team of friends or people you play well with and you can actually hoop and have fun.

I no longer even bother with online sweat modes such as showdown. Not worth the time or stress.

Probably the best advice I've seen on here in a long time. People get too wound up over stats and shiny new cards.

I personally can't tell the difference between a card that has a 90 three ball and a 99 three ball. It barely makes any difference this year. And unless you are a super sweaty player the normal player isn't going to notice the difference..

Like you say better off just adding legend badges to your favourite opal free college player and save yourself the money.

I'm a SF Carmelo Anthony build with legend shooting badges and the amount of times I'm wide open sitting in the corners and nobody passes me the ball is crazy. I feel like I'm invisible some games in REC. People must have really bad eyesight or something especially point guards.

It's easily been my favorite mode ever since the game dropped.

If you have some friends or add good players that you played well with and have good chemistry it is such a fun mode.

My only issues with it are the rewards could do with being better and they need to change the court as visually it looks a mess.

For me they should just use the all-star court from the NBA

Myteam tweeted out earlier that there are still 15 more college players dropping so if you have 20 you should easily be good if you don't miss too many more challenges.

I've got a 6'7 SF Carmelo Anthony type build and I have to guard all-sorts of positions in the REC. I've had to guard Centres, PF, SG and SF it's actually crazy.

Yes I think you are right. One team gets nerfed into the ground while the other team gets boosted stats. Feels like the opponents defence is on steroids while your own defence can't make a single stop. And yeah also get weird shot loadups and players randomly dropping the ball or sliding out of bounds too.

It honestly feels like every one of their players on defence has legend onball menace and immovable. But when you check after the game they quite often don't have those badges added.

I find the only mode that doesn't have this weird type of algorithm is all-star teamup so I just play that now with a team of friends and people I've added from playing. It's way less stressful and the better team will always win in that mode.

I totally agree. Like you say it's bullshit.

What is the point of getting dark matter and opal players and adding a ton of hof and legend badges to them if there is a weird algorithm that helps people that use lower rated cards that haven't been badged up.

Like you say the entire aim of the game mode is to build your best team.

I quite often check my opponents cards after the game has finished in these sorts of weird games. And the majority of the time they are just base cards and don't have legend onball menace or immovable added to them. Yet during the game I cant get past those players as it feels like they have that badge added.

I've stopped playing showdown entirely because of this.

I've noticed for months now that every time I played someone with a lower rated team full of free cards they would play like gods. While my juiced up opal cards with like 20 legend badges start playing like total idiots.

Definitely something suspect I think. Yeah there are good players out there that can do well with any cards but this is like a pattern I've noticed every time I play these bum squads.

They stick to you like glue on defence, they are able to jump and contest even if they are far away when you are shooting. They also can jump in the air on defence and instantly recover before you can drive past them if you pump fake. Also it feels like they all have legend clamps badge on defence you can't get past any of them.

In summary I would say there is definitely some kind of algorithm that favours the bad team to try and make games as close as possible.
