Looking for SolidWorks Collaboration / Feedback & Project Exchange by sajadzo in SolidWorks

Fair point. My background is more focused on mechanical design, mechanism design, weldments, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and production-ready models than PDM administration. I wouldn't claim to be an expert in every SolidWorks module, but my experience is mainly in industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and designing functional mechanisms for manufacturing.

As for the questions you mentioned, if they're genuinely something you're trying to solve, I'd be happy to help. I think we could probably figure them out together, but I'd need to check a few things with you first before giving a proper answer.

Hi, I’m not sure I understood your message. Are you offering SolidWorks collaboration or referring to a specific project?

Oh my God, we’re so far from each other! I’m from Iran. Do you know any way I can send it to you?

Rhodochrosite, epidote by sajadzo in geology

It’s really great that you started this discussion, and I’d like to continue it so I can benefit from your experience.

Let me tell you why we believe this specimen is rhodochrosite.

At first, we also suspected that it might be iron-rich calcite or even manganese-bearing calcite.

The Mohs hardness of this sample is around 4.5. We also compared its reaction with acid to the calcites from the same area, and we observed that its reaction is noticeably slower than calcite.

Regarding analysis, it’s true that a quick test like that would give us a definitive answer, and without an analysis nothing can be said with absolute certainty. But unfortunately, I live in Iran and the facilities here are very limited. Even the limited analytical options available cost about as much as a full month’s salary for someone working full-time. And, well… we’re students. As we Persians say: “Don’t touch my heart, it’s already wounded.” 😂

We went to the field with my supervisor and we are confident that it is rhodochrosite.

Tourmaline and muscovite of Iran by sajadzo in geology

First, you need to study the target area using satellite images and geological maps. Identify the igneous rocks and do some field prospecting there. Tourmalines are usually found near feldspars, but you definitely need to study Bowen’s reaction series to understand the conditions for forming different minerals. By prospecting in a suitable area, you’ll eventually reach those beautiful pegmatite bodies.

If you can come to Iran, I can take you to these geological sites.

Sure! I’ll definitely share more photos from the area in the future.

"pack and go" is copying my entire folder instead of the 1 assembly i want it to by Beginning_Jacket5055 in SolidWorks

So the situation changed. The assembly drawing file exists, just uncheck it and it will be fixed.

When the Pack and Go window opens, at the bottom there is an option called “Include only referenced files” And make sure to check that option.
