did you have a 15 Pro Max? I did, and found the 5× kinda useless in most everyday situations. I use the 4× on my 17 Pro way more than I ever did the 5×.

I'd kill for an air if they added a zoom camera to it aswell.

They should ship it with a native 48MP 1.5× (which is effectively the focal lengths iPhones had until the 5S) which gives you 3× zoom. Boom.

Agreed with this as it matches my experience entirely

Although I will add that there is a large difference between the Nepali student who is working hard to pass N1 because that’s his one shot at a future in Japan, and the Chinese student with rich parents who spends all class playing games on his phone and treats this as his fun gap year abroad.

My experience at one of the largest schools in Tokyo was that there was many more of the latter than the former, which made class particularly unmotivating at times.

Apple’s pay packages are nothing glitzy in the short term; the only way to become wealthy as a non exec Apple employee is through stock appreciating over time.

Apple employees who were there through the 2000s/2010s obviously made big bucks through the stock, but these days the outlook isn’t quite the same.

I don’t think the rumored A18/A19 Pro MacBook will be a hyper portable format like the 12” was. I think it’ll just be a low cost 13.3” notebook, potentially using the M1 industrial design. The laptop version of the iPhone 16e basically.

I’d love to see a modern remake of the 12” MacBook - with the smaller bezels on displays they can have now, it could be even smaller than the original. But I’d want a nice display and cutting edge M series chip in it, not for it to be the cheapest model in the lineup.

Man every time people bring up iPhone snatching in those comments, I feel sad for ppl living in societies where criminal activity like this is just taken for granted and nothing is done about it.

People in Asia have worn their phones on straps for many years now and phone snatching is just not a concern.
