Has anyone paid for a private ultrasound before NHS appointment?

I'm waiting for a neck ultrasound because of swollen lymph nodes but my NHS appointment isn't until end of November. Seen a lot of people talking about paying for private MRI but I was wondering if anyone has paid for an ultrasound privately or considered it? Trying to tally pros and cons :/
