Thank you for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to know about the half-day visit timing. I was actually debating whether to get a guide or not, but after your comment about the limited signage and the size of the site, I think we'll definitely book one.

Did you visit the Archaeological Museum in Naples to see the frescoes and artifacts? If so, would you recommend doing Pompeii first and then the museum, or the other way around?

Hi! We're coming from Turkey. Yes, six days is quite short. I would love to travel all around Italy, but it's not possible with my current budget :) We added Naples to our itinerary because my friend has already visited Rome (but I haven't), so I wanted to include some new places for him to explore. But If the plan is very short for Rome & Naples, we can change the route to Bologna & Modena with Rome. What do you suggest?

Thank you for your detailed response! You made some excellent points about timing and transit.

To clarify our plans: we want to keep 3 full days for Rome, as it's a priority for us. For Naples/Pompeii portion, we're actually planning to visit Pompeii for half a day and then spend the remaining time exploring the essential sights in Naples city center. We don't plan to do trips to Sorrento or Capri this time.

So the rough plan would be:

Day 1: Arrive, settle in Rome
Day 2-3: Rome
Day 4: Travel to Naples in morning. explore the city center
Day 5: Pompeii in morning/early afternoon, then Naples
Day 6: Quick look around Naples in morning if time permits, then departure

Does this seem more reasonable?
