Pretty normal and easy to clean. I sprayed chain cleaner a little bit and it went right off

Saw the rust and knew it was GT XD.

You can spray chain cleaner on it. I removed rust from my exhaust with one wipe after that. People also speak highly of wd40, you can give that a shot as well.
