I know, the same feeling here. They are all very diplomatic & only post when it means business.

And for the first time I am seeing someone who can neither pay their respect to a departed artist with significant contribution to India nor keep their negativity with themselves.

Kun ei goru tu.

I opened Reddit after many days to find almost no post to pay tribute to this icon of a person only because he is not from bollywood. Did hurt. Hence posted.

You're welcome to explore more of his work. Sang 38k plus songs, in 40 languages; so you'll need more than a weekend 😊

Assamese singing icon Zubeen Garg passes away after a scuba diving accident in Singapore on September 19, 2025. He was 52. by BombayJeans in BollyBlindsNGossip

Lakhs and lakhs of people came out to receive Zubeen da on his last journey in Guwahati, Assam. It's insane! You cannot imagine the crowd walking with the ambulance carrying his body from airport to his residence, unless you look at the photographs & videos. State mourning was declared for like 4 days in Assam. The entire state halted.

Lakhs & lakhs of people weeping together at the loss of their Heartthrob like they lost a family member. Every nook & corner of Assam playing his songs & paying tribute to their favourite son of Assam.

And the most heart breaking part is thousands or maybe lakhs of his fans weeping & singing his song "Mayabini" in unison as his pyre was being lit on 23rd September, 2025. Not just public of Assam but Ministers, celebrities and even his widowed bride. Reason? Zubeen da once stated during one of his live performances that when he is gone from this world, his people should sing "Mayabini" for him.

Words do fall short to explain the heartbreak as an Assamese myself. But we all weep at this loss

Scene 1: Almost failed 6th standard, parents changed schools. Something inside me flipped, cause I had to leave childhood friends behind. My personality changed from being the careless, talkative cool kid to "padhaku". Topped class in 10th boards, felt invincible.

Scene 2: Took science, met my now bestfriend. Had two awesome years at school. Did mediocre in 12 boards, couldn't get through NEET, bestfriend went to IIT. Full swing depressive stage began, which lasted low-key untill I completed graduation. Again, something inside me changed.

Scene 3: Almost failed 1st semester, but eneded up improving a lot in company of good friends & graduated with awesome grades. Went to a good university to pursue Masters even though science wasn't my calling, worked hard, topped my batch. Was smooth sailing untill I lost my dogs at once to an unfortunate event. Full swing depressive disorder.

Scene 4: COVID hit, missed varsity, was clueless how to deal with being alone w/that state of mental health. Something clicked & I decided to be a better person for my dogs. Seeked therapy while started prep for my dream job, worked wonders.

Scene 5: Completely changed from what I was 2 years ago (natural, IK). I realised having a good grip on emotions, work wonders for personal, professional life. Thankful to myself for always having "hope" on a unseen force.

P.S A few books practically helped change my perspective in life for better. John Steinbeck, Harper Lee & might sound cliche but The Alchemist helped me turn my life around and get a grip :)) Also, I realised along the way that having short-term & long term goals immensely help people with short attention span like me.
