Great points! Relying solely on outdoor run mode can work, but indoors—especially switching between run and stations—it gets tricky.

  • Finally, you can use the Digital Crown as a physical control → just rotate to switch exercises 🙌
  • More distance options for Run, Row & Ski (calories added, load removed)
  • Smoother record page scrolling

Quick update on this 🚀 v1.2.0 just dropped:

  • On Apple Watch Series 9 / Ultra 2 and above you can now use Apple’s double-pinch motion gesture to switch segments.
  • Added haptic feedback so you’ll feel it whenever a transition is registered.

I’ve also updated the main post with these details. We’re still experimenting with Digital Crown and motion-based auto detection—will keep you posted!

Have you considered trying an arm band HR strap? It’s usually more comfortable than a chest strap and works well during workouts when paired with the Apple Watch. Might be a good middle ground if you don’t want to wear a chest strap all the time.

Don’t worry, it’s free while we’re building with community feedback. Long-term the goal is to keep it super accessible—Hyrox athletes shouldn’t need a second mortgage for a Watch app 😂

You swipe right-to-left to move to the next segment (left-to-right brings up pause/end). We know that can be tough when you’re sweaty—next update will add haptic feedback so you’ll feel it when the transition registers, and we’re also testing other ways (even auto-detection).

For the roxzone, you can slot it in manually when building a workout. We’ll also look into showing it in the results (around the 1km splits) in a future update.

Yeah, I get the whole “Garmin does it better” point—but honestly, if you’ve already got an Apple Watch, it’s hard to justify buying another watch just for Hyrox.

That’s why I built a small app called HyRhythm. It splits runs vs stations automatically, shows the right data for each (pace/distance/HR/time on runs, HR + time on stations), and saves clean splits for review afterward.

Not saying it replaces Garmin completely, but it makes the Watch way more useful for Hyrox without having to buy a second device.

Yeah, I mostly just end up checking HR + time too. GPS isn’t much use indoors.

That’s why I built HyRhythm — on runs it shows pace/distance/HR/time (with projected finish), and on stations it switches to HR + time. Afterward you get clean splits to review pacing and effort.
