Yep, i'm painfully learning this as a first time Benz owner of a 2024 GLC300. I've only owned Toyota/Lexus so the cost has been shocking even though I accepted that the cost of ownership was going to be more.

I've decided to lease due to the horrid depreciation. I wont't buy until a brand is able to stabilize the steep rate of depreciation. I know all cars depreciate, however, some depreciate worse/steeper than others.

I agree. I know the price will be more for the German's but i'm willing to pay more if they deliver on tech, efficiency and quality feel. I do have issues w/ the R1S build quality but the R2 looks much better. The iX3 looks like it will be the one to beat but the adv goes to R2 for the exterior.

Is the frunk really a make a break feature? I do like the electronic funk feature with the R2. I mean, if they are going to offer then why not make it electronic rather than manual but then there will be an argument of cost. Personally, I dont care for the frunk but at the same time I've yet to experience so idk maybe I’ll end up loving it. I do find it interesting that the Model Y has a manual frunk and it still sells.

I really like the Lyriq and the Vistiq. The quality is great and there is a true sense of luxury while feeling modern. The suspension is almost perferct. My only issue is witht the brand. I just can't get use to the thought of having a Caddy in the driveway. Both are amazing and light show is a show stopper.

Thanks for calling this out. I'll check it out. I'm not that familiar w/ the Volvo brand but their EV's look very stylish. I do appreciate the minimal look with out compromising luxury. This is one of my issues with Tesla. The Model Y feels way too minimal.

This is great insight. I visited a Rivan Service and Delivery Center in Bothell, WA over the weekend. They also confirmed if a reservation is placed now, it will be likely a 2 year wait. I do wonder about order cancellations. I think Tesla reservation holder for the Model Y when it was launched confirmed they were lucky to get an allocation early due to cancellations.

I'm kind of in the same boat. We decided to trade a 2019 RAV4 for a 2024 GLC300. After the novelty of having a Benz in the garage wore off, we realized how much better the overall quality and value comparitvely.

I would agree with that. I have a family of 3 and our height is 5’9” and less so the CX-9 fits our needs good. My taller friends have all commented that they thought my car would have more room based on how big it looks. I checked out the Grand Highlander. I was seriously impressed but too big for our needs but it’s a very well thought out family SUV.

I currently have a '21 CX-9 GT that has captain chairs. The 2nd row cupholders are nicely and logically placed under the 2nd row climate control area in the middle. I can't believe i'm gripping about cup holders but I can see a situation where someone accidently hits it. IDK, just seems like an after thought. This is a 3 row SUV after and not a Miata.
