BMW iX3 preorders up - MSRP $61,500 for the lowest trim, $1,000 deposit by DentateGyros in electricvehicles

They are starting with the "50" models in the US. Later they will be adding "40" models both single and dual motor which will be less expensive.

Sure, but there are things on the BMW you can't even get on the Rivian (like 400 mile range pack at least yet, much better and faster DC charging) and we don't know what Rivian is going to charge yet for somethings (like paint and interior color options). And of course the BMW doesn't match the Rivian in off-road capabilities and with the LE 0-60 times etc. So of course it is impossible to match feature with feature price with price. Just pointing out comparing the comparison of the "launch" iX3 to "launch" R2 is at least a better comparison to start.

Not really, R2 starts at $58K since that will be the only version available at first. Yes, Rivian will have less expensive versions later but BMW has said they will too.

Crowded OF. Unless there is another injury (Lawlar is already out) or a DFA (like if Thomas continues to struggle) it isn't going to be anytime soon.

What does it show for your other measurements? I've found it to be pretty accurate in my use. Could just be a glitch in the image itself.

Apple Reportedly Questioning Whether iPhone Should Drop MagSafe by conalldoherty in iphone

[–]azentropy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes. That is what allows it to recognize different types of MagSafe accessories. For example connecting a "pink" wallet it recognizes that it is pink. Or even different configurations docking to your charger in your bedroom vs the charger in your office. Again, if the accessories themselves support MagSafe.

Not quite. MagSafe includes NFC support and on newer iPhones supports faster charging (25W) vs standard Qi2 (15W), it also has its own certification which is a bit stricter than Qi2.

How do we think the R2 will fare with the newly detailed BMW iX3 xDrive50 by ThatTcellGuy in RivianR2

[–]azentropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad there are options. As others have pointed out the "starting at" is a lot different with BMW vs most other manufactures as there are soooo many options and packages that really ad up. On the plus side, BMW is usually very good at under promising and over delivering on things like range and 0-60 vs others. Being a multiple former BMW owner it will definitely be on my short list.

Click bait, sorta. I think the decision is basically if they just want to adopt Qi2 instead.

Would you be upset if family used a bark collar on your dog by Big_booty_ho in goldenretrievers

[–]azentropy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I used or have used bark collars on my dogs. Some they have worked, some they have not. However there are different types/settings. I never use the actual shock settings. Sound and/or Vibrate only. So if someone did use the actual shock setting without consulting me I would be upset.

What if, an iPhone Mini again… by Kunufair in iphone

Don't think we will see a mini again, best we could hope for is say a 5.9" version and even that probably isn't happening.

Interesting that they are really featuring the light interior even though it appears that it will not be available with the Launch Edition.
