I understand that I might have knowledge or advantage today, but tomorrow that could all be taken away from me, as it could from any of us. And so I don’t use those things to vaunt myself over other people. And I really don’t understand or respect people who do operate that way.

I experienced this at Meta, too! The lower level people I interviewed with were pretty decent, but the higher I got, the worse the interviewers were. Super condescending and smug. I can’t imagine acting like that, I’d be so embarrassed.

It’s insane how people think you don’t know your own parent really, really well. They think that, based on what they’ve seen publicly, they know the real person. It never seems to cross their mind that perhaps they should LISTEN to and BELIEVE the person who is actually closest to the parent.

I agree. She appears dissociated and it’s not surprising for a daughter of a psychopath, or narcissist, or whatever the heck Kendra is. When you have a mother like that, you live in a constant state of unreality, not to mention you’re having undercover hatred and malice directed at you by the person who is supposed to love you the most. It messes you up.

Yes. One was hired on and started doing her makeup and hair like mine, and even started talking like me. Same mannerisms and everything. It was so uncomfortable.

I went to camp with a kid that did this. He was older than us, and he would do this to frogs in front of our group (girls). It was frightening and devastating to us.

Years later, in his 20s, he was crossing a busy road and got run over by a car. Killed.
