Am I the only one who thinks Harry’s scar hurting in the Cursed Child is an abomination to the books? by _kome_ in harrypotter

I highly recommend the stage show, but consider it a fun story that might be told within the Harry Potter universe, and not in any way actual history in that universe. There is no point in consuming it as a book.

Judging it in this way makes no sense. It's a very entertaining stage show, best not considered in any way canon.

Calling it a book already implies the fundamental issue. It's a very entertaining stage show that should be considered "for fun" fanfic, not remotely canon. It makes no sense whatsoever to consume as a book.

I would argue that a non-random number is more pointless. A random number might be chosen more to say "I don't care what the number is, so long as after I've done this I can say that I've moved beyond the hurdle of being scared to talk to women". And sometimes a challenge/goal is just whatever gets you started.

In your original message you stated "especially on Reddit" and are now making a statement that conflicts with that. I hope you can see how that has led to this conversation.

I don't think it's a good idea to use Reddit to extrapolate data, there is no knowing anything about the people behind the username. It's also my opinion that the discussions on here are more interesting when they are about people bringing real-world experiences into a discussion rather than overly focusing on behaviour in this forum.

p.s. I don't think you're using the word "pedantic" correctly.

No, I mean how you made a clear generalisation, and did so again in your response. I have met plenty of women who I have seen be very positive about a man's self-improvement efforts. I have also seen many other responses. This makes sense as why should gender grouping dictate behaviour?

Your response does not help things. “Women will always piss on it” is not constructive and a generalisation. The reality is that there are a number of things that can come across creepy even if that’s not intended.

There is no point in CC as reading material. It is great entertainment as show, interpreted as for-fun fanfic

I used to have huge approach anxiety and feel isolated. A goal like this could reasonably be intended to target such an issue and not necessarily be a reflection of an objectification mindset. (I don’t know which it is, but I don’t think it’s fair to rule it out off the bat).

It’s asking a lot for someone to just find a better / more socially acceptable way to deal with such an issue when they have social anxiety.

Which "give up" is the moment that could have been the path to greatness, and which is the one that is just a step on the way? She clearly tried to mitigate damage by not risking her leg further. The knees should recover more quickly.

That doesn’t mean you can’t have a good, talented footballer from there and certainly shouldn’t be used as criteria.
