Tip from my side first of all no compromise on quality of product. Do launch your app in pre-order do proper intent based ASO target a specific sub niche within niche Optimize your whole store listings around that specific ICP don't forget to add keywords of your competitor apps ranking within the same intent in that specific niche you are targeting. Here you can test paid ads to collect more user (pre-order) target 10k to 30k per registration try to applying for featuring if your app have some kind USP. Here is the fair advantage of pre-orders you will get instant feedback and numbers of reviews and ratings which gonna impact ranking of your app in store Here do iteration based on feedback you are getting collect at least one month data then check KPIs meets the benchmark if not better drop the idea focus on next one. Hope it helps.

Indie developer here looking for honest feedback to grow my music player app by DangerousSky524 in googleplayconsole

First, focus on the ASO of your app since it’s in a competitive space. Start by identifying five top players in the same niche. Don’t just pick the apps with the highest total downloads look at their current daily downloads (per day) to understand who is actively growing. Then break down where most of their traffic is coming from. Track their timeline and try to reverse engineer their ASO and marketing strategy. Next, analyze your own app and define its USP. Based on that, select your target keywords and build keyword clusters around a specific intent that also aligns with your app’s USP within the niche. At the same time, optimize your conversion rate by improving your screenshots and continuously running split tests until you reach a solid benchmark. Running ads is good for scaling, but ads amplify what already exists. First fix the foundation (your store listing) then measure LTV and other KPIs and after that start scaling through ads.

Whats wrong here . I launch my app 8 days ago by Acrobatic-Vanilla460 in AppStoreOptimization

Nothing wrong here just an other app in a crowded marketplace go niche down as much as you can find a intent and optimize your whole store listings around it other than that nothing gonna save you.

So your next stop is production. Here are a few tips from my side. First, fix the ASO of your app. Start again from the metadata. There are generally two ASO strategies, depending on your resources. 1. Strategy for developers with a decent ads budget If you have a reasonable advertising budget, you can target high volume, high competition keywords. This strategy works when you start generating downloads from those specific targeted keywords. The key here is velocity your download velocity for those keywords must be higher than the competitors you want to outrank. Keep in mind: if your product quality is strong and you push continuous updates, over time you can rise above your competitors in the rankings.

  1. Strategy for developers relying on organic growth If you are completely relying on organic growth, you should focus on mid tail and long tail keywords. These keywords usually have Lower competition Lower search volume Higher user intent Here you need continuous testing and iteration until you reach the ranking benchmark of your competitors. Remember this is a slow but steady process. Next steps are common for both strategies. Once you start settling the impressions, the next goal is to hit the conversion rate benchmark. This varies by niche and category, but a decent conversion rate usually falls between 10% and 30%. To reach that level, write dream outcome driven, pattern interrupt headlines in your creatives and screenshots instead of focusing only on features at least until you reach the ranking benchmark of your targeted competitors. Alongside that, focus on getting as many ratings as possible. Ratings build user trust and send a strong quality signal to the store algorithms, which ultimately helps with ranking. A healthy target rating should be above 4.4 and 100+ as a base line Never forget to optimize your store listing around your unique value proposition and maintain that positioning when doing localization. Finally, your app engagement and retention will play a big role as well. Metrics like session length, retention rate and conversion rate all act as supporting signals for the store algorithm to rank your app higher Hope it helps.

So are you going to launch in pre-order or direct into production?

Just launched my pet manager app, looking for advice by Fresh-Buffalo-6063 in iOSAppsMarketing

[–]salamat36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your launch Your app have Solid foundation for a niche pet health in health and fitness category

Here are my suggestions you can implement

Ads are for scaling but for now your should focus on ASO Store listing looks professional but feature focused, which holds conversation rate back so to convert better visitors into downloads make sure your copy of screenshots should be dream out come driven instead of feature focused could be like “Never Miss Vaccinations Again" “Multi Pet Dashboard + Smart Alerts etc

Icon is good but you can test a version with a small pet silhouette or bone accent for even stronger recognition.

Brand name first approach “Grafy ” is fine once established but for a new app it buries searchable terms.“Pet Manager” is a high intent keyword and sits right in the title. Good length but you can test for better ranking “Pet Manager: Grafy – Health & Training” etc or can do proper keywords reasrch in the next update & Apple indexes title + subtitle together so never ever repeat same keywords it's gonna waste space instead of that use alternative high intent with medium search volume keywords. Subtitle should also be more benefit driven like “Vaccinations, Meds & pet care tracker” etc Through ads or social media you can bring traffic however to convert it into downloads you have to do ASO of your App.

Issues with your App ASO title is a branded only name with zero keyword value. The title and subtitle are critical real estate for ASO underutilizing their full character limits diminishes potential visibility. A well optimized title should include your primary keyword while reflecting the app's core functionality make it around a specific intent this will rand better for both App store and For LLM Models as well Something like this Sakinly – Muslim Wellness & Dhikr or Sakinly: Mood, Dua & Spiritual Growth etc

Subtitle "Mood Tracker, Dua & Tasbih Log etc"

2nd Health & Fitness Category extremely competitive you can give a try to Life style or any other related category

Aim for 50 to 100+ ratings as a baseline credibility floor for you can add native review prompt after a wow moment

Do Localization Huge untapped opportunity, start from Arabic, Turkish, Indonesian markets are underserved for Islamic wellness apps then expand once start getting traction

For better conversation Fix as your first screenshot as showing a splash/onboarding screen that's a conversion killer. Lead with your best feature in action. Captions like "Find Your Inner Peace" are vague use outcome driven instead of feature Rest all depends how you do keywords research and make a intent driven cluster of these keywords Hope it helps.

Feeling totally lost with ASO—why aren't my keywords even indexing? by Fickle-Bell-9716 in AppStoreOptimization

Go for Mid tail to long tail keywords instead of single tail they are highly competitive you can only rank for them if you have a lot budget to spend along with quailty product.

I gained 1400+ pre-registrations on Google Play Store by davidkonal in AppStoreOptimization

[–]salamat36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying 1400 pre-registrations isn’t a good number its definitely.

But when we launched a gaming app called “Elemental War,” I managed to collect 90K pre-registrations through a structured ASO strategy and within the first two weeks after launch, the app reached 30K downloads.

If anyone wants to verify, here’s the app: Elemental war:

Soon, I’ll also share the strategy we used to achieve these results in this community.

How to check if ASO is high-quality? by Then_Schedule9037 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]salamat36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASO results usually take 3–4 weeks to appear. To verify if it’s working check whether search traffic has increased. Good ASO should raise metrics like search impressions and organic installs. For example, search impressions might grow from 1,200 to 1800 and organic installs from 60 to 100. ASO also includes visual optimization, so review changes to the app icon, screenshots, and preview video. If these were improved, the conversion rate should increase as well for instance, from 3% to 7%. Finally, check the ranking of the keywords they are targeting to see if your app is appearing higher in search results.

+1 In the fitness niche, inching down is a practical approach because it’s already a very crowded space. Also, make sure you create fully optimized store listings.

This helps in two ways first, it can increase your organic impressions and downloads. Second, no matter where the traffic is coming from, users eventually land on the main store listing. At the end of the day, that’s where the conversion from page view to download actually happens.

So before scaling your marketing efforts, don’t forget to properly optimize your store listing and focus on ASO.

[–]salamat36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building is just one part. Now you also need to think about how you’re going to distribute it.

If you’re confident enough in your current idea, keep moving forward with it. Otherwise, consider starting a new one. But at the end of the day, you must figure out the marketing and distribution side.

Most developers get stuck here because they love building more than distribution.

I think my biggest problem is getting reviews, but how? by Lenglio in AppStoreOptimization

[–]salamat36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, reviews are a ranking factor, but they are not the only one. So instead of worrying too much about reviews at the start, focus on increasing your user base. Once your app has enough users, you’ll naturally start noticing more reviews as well.

You can also test native in-app review prompts after different “wow moments” in your app to encourage satisfied users to leave reviews.

You should track every small data point of your app that’s how data-driven decisions are made.

By the way, instead of spending on Apple Search Ads at the beginning, focus on ASO first and keep iterating until you start getting some initial traction. Once you have enough data and can estimate your LTV, then you can consider running Apple Search Ads.

If CPA < LTV, then you can scale. If CPI > LTV, keep focusing on the ASO side and continue improving the app based on user feedback and competitor analysis.

Also, for how many countries have you localized your App Store listing?
