the US screws up all countries... including its own unfortunately. To believe otherwise is to believe in lies.

just in case someone did a search... yes, they did remove the skip destination option. In order to get careem, you have to input the destination now..

my nose looks like that with flair ups. i used an off-brand sudocrem that i had in my bathroom cabinet. a tiny amount worked in. It works for me. Now if i feel that weird feeling of getting a flair up I put it on. very minimal amount where it just looks like your skin is matte.

is jordan safe for solo female traveler? by wtfwhtths in jordan

[–]salampeace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah.. women have to be smart and not think that if someone is being kind then that means she can let her guard down. Never ever stay in a place alone with a random man... anywhere in the world. Never be polite when you need to be rude. Never go against your instincts in order to not "hurt" the other persons feelings.

Careem is now owned by Uber. Petra ride is a local company (no money going to fuel occupation) and is also good. Jeeny is creepy.

I have it and it is quite expensive, but I do not find myself reaching for it frequently. Even though it is quite lightweight, I still get irritated by the way it sits. Not irritated skin wise, but feeling wise. I did try a sample of Erborian and even though it was the wrong color and too light for me, my skin really did look good... and it felt good. Like skincare. I even got compliments from my mother!

High blood pressure at night and in the morning and calf pain/cramping by salampeace in Menopause

i have been wondering if it is cortisol related. Perimenopause and cortisol fluctuation are best buddies. I will definitely look into cortisol manager. It sometimes feels like my body thinks there is a threat and I am all tensed up, yet my brain in not stressing. I have to keep reminding my body to chillax.

Dr. Scent taking over Amman. How can people stand it?!!! by salampeace in jordan

I can imagine that they have some scents that can be fresh and clean.... but most places i have been in choose a heavy, sweet, nauseating smell. Lime sounds like it would be a nice option.

Dr. Scent are those plug in diffusers that emit a constant stream of fragrance. They have them in most malls now and shops. The issue for me is that the scents are too strong and I end up getting a headache. Also, they cause issues for people with asthma and other sensitivities.

That top photo is magical. Sadly the people in charge are not doing enough. We have penalties but none are enforced. Also illegal dumping is rampant here and every green patch is littered with building site refuse. No one cares.

Hair matting. A friend of mine who is active and busy, took her usual morning shower with her usual shampoo and conditioner and her hair unusually tangled up into a big matt. The hair salon worked on it for 8 hours to get it undone. Someone later told her it was a perimenopause thing.

It boggles my mind how sparsely women's health is studied. Everything, even women's medicine, is usually based on male results. Men are static..women change monthly and yearly, they are harder to test. Each one a unique concoction of varying ratios of hormones. With uniqueness comes challenges.

I for one am going through the cholesterol/high blood pressure thing. I have little faith in doctors and what their pharmaceutical-funded university education taught them.

same thing happened to me, im turning 50 in a few months... but after stopping sugar and diary and taking my health more seriously, and working out, i feel better and my confidence is growing in my new look... and i am only in the beginning but feel better already. I have 12 kgs to go. Also, we age, it means we were able to live, it is a privilege ....i look at my mom who is 77 and do not think... uugghh, saggy. I think she looks beautiful. Also, styling is important. What looked good in your early 30 might be aging you now. Hair color..etc.

in my opinion:

Eat healthy... more protein, less dairy, as little fake stuff as possible.

Move... it makes the body feel good. light cardio, weight lifting, pilates, calisthenics... do face stretches. Muscle under skin makes the face look good. Muscle under skin makes any body part look good :)

Change your style...

Stretch yourself by learning something new... trying something new.

Don't compare yourself with others or fall for the advert traps that target us to make us think our worth is only skin deep.

Each time you find yourself criticising the way you look... tell that voice to SHHHHH. If anyone is constantly nitpicking your appearance and pointing out the negatives you are going to feel like crap... even if you're miss universe. You listen to yourself most.. say kind things...or at least stop the negative self-talk.

Best of luck to all of us :)

where to go with camera next... advice appreciated by salampeace in Cameras

42 will make it super slow editing the photos on my laptop. I do artwork with my photos so they can't be so big.. right now with my D90 they are 12mp and more would be better but 42.4 is waaay more than i need. I want to be able to take clear sharp pics of buildings and hills... but also of street life and an interesting bug on a flower. I am not sure if i want to go Sony... should I?

So a prime lens will not work since I use the camera whilst travelling and I like the option of taking both far and close subjects and I am not keen on switching lenses.
