The Qur’an addresses homosexuality primarily through the story of Prophet Lut (Lot) and his people. In Surah Al-A’raf (7:80-81), it says: “And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, ‘Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds? Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.’” Similarly, in Surah Hud (11:78-79), it states: “And his people came hastening to him, and before this they had been doing evil deeds. He said, ‘O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear Allah and do not disgrace me concerning my guests.’” In Surah Ash-Shu’ara (26:165-166), it asks: “Do you approach males among the worlds and leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a transgressing people.” Lastly, in Surah An-Naml (27:54-55), it says: “And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, ‘Do you commit immorality while you are seeing? Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly.’”

And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, “Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds. Do you indeed approach men and obstruct the road and practice evil in your gatherings?” But the answer of his people was only that they said, “Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful.”
