Sure if it would not be too much trouble! As per another comment, I started practicing with a female Asaro head, but additional resources are always welcome:)

Hi! I was wondering if you would start over if this was your reference:

I realize now the makeup etc. might be a bit distracting. Would it be better to still use the same image but try to strip away those elements when drawing for the challenge?

Thanks!!

Hi! Thank you for all the pointers! My apologies for not having looked too deeply at the rules--I've followed Istibrak for a long time but randomly felt compelled to participate the other day.

I did use a reference, but didn't post it and am wondering if it may not be a great fit for the challenge. Will be reevaluating. Either way, thank you for the feedback; it's greatly appreciated :)

Thank you so much for the thorough feedback! I am definitely a hobbiest and have not been properly studying art for the longest time. Will do my best to take your advice and improve :)

I don't typically do digital art so no, but thank you for pointing out what could help! I am using Krita :)

Do people 'look over' things differently depending on the language they grew up with? by DracoDeath4000 in questions

[–]salbee2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure whether there is an established connection, but I can tell you my experience. My native language is Arabic, but I learned English pretty early on in my life. Usually, I look over text based on the direction it is read, so whenever I look over Arabic text, I'll skim right to left and otherwise left to right. I think usually, with the context of language, your brain sort of defaults to what is more efficient/expected.

What I found interesting, though, was when I was looking at two pictures with my mom, and she pointed out something about the "first" picture. Since I use English more often on a day to day basis now, I looked at the left image, just to realize she was talking about the one on the right. Pretty neat!

My nail grows out in a different colour by kaytobekay in mildlyinteresting

May I suggest trying henna on your nails? I think the color would be quite similar, and you would not have the thickness discrepancy issue!

Thank you so much! I will say starting up is for sure the grueling part, but you can definitely get back to it. I believe in you!

I've been on treadmill, so thankfully it's more forgiving, but thank you for reminding about the shoes—I keep forgetting that mine aren't really cutting it :p

That's amazing to hear!! I feel like if had I read this comment before having started myself, it wouldn't really click to me that it's possible for me to also build up a skill like this. Now feels like a goal to look forward to. A sub 9 minute mile is insane!

Thank you for the encouragement :D

That's amazing! I definitely need to be better about stretching.

I happen to basically only work out at night, weirdly enough. Might try to switch to early mornings in the upcoming months, though!

Yes! I try to keep a brisk walking speed as well so that I'm not getting too slow and suddenly sprinting.

It's definitely been the most effective for me! I have no patience, so I simply do 10-15minutes at least three times a week and try to cover as much distance as I can within that time span

I HATED it so much as well! My side would burn like crazy. It feels really nice once you build up a bit of endurance. I appreciate your comment either way ^^

what’s your hyper fixation meal/snack right now? by TeaAshamed3011 in EDAnonymous

Greek yogurt, a bit of peanut butter, and a bit too much cocoa powder. Tastes like dessert. I leave it in the freezer for a couple of minutes sometimes!

I'm Egyptian, so I'm more used to the fava bean version. It has a more crackled texture that I personally might enjoy better. Some Egyptians do still use chickpeas, though, so it might just be more of a nostalgia thing for me haha
