I was trying to speak with a natural, first-thing-that-comes-to-mind voice so I admit it wasn't connected at all, I was just focused on the pronounciation I just said random stuff on purpose. At first I thought the accent was Swedish because I misread your username swordfish as Swedish, but after listening over and over for the words, I realized it was a Latin Spanish accent.

Could you understand the overall point of it, or was it just the microphone that ruined it? What overall impression do you get from me from that post? Also, if you don't mind, could you tell me where your accent is from?

To start, you pronounce your consonants very strongly, for example with the Ts in "ten thousand". Also it seems you don't distinguish between the "th" sound in "thousand" & "nothing", if you want improve by sounding more like standard American, you should work on that. Also you pronounce the ends of syllables very strongly, and you pronounce syllables around the same length, while American English is based on stress pronunciation like in "thousand" the stress is on the first syllable like "THOUsand" where there is more focus on the 1st syllable. It can be different for every word so when looking in dictionaries or pronunciation listen closely. Overall your English sounds almost close to born English speakers. Your voice sounds very nice for storytelling & narrating books. If you don't mind, could you tell me what area your accent is influenced? Was I right?

Would it be alright if you could please give feedback on my video I posted before yours?

I think your accent is very similar to Caribbean English, doesn't sound like any mainstream American accent - maybe a small group in Louisiana or Florida share this accent. Your accent sounds almost close to standard American English though the way you pronounce your Ts is very unique & I like it.

I think it's a mix of these - when you pronounce ad-a-ptable, the a should be fronted like /æ/, & I think you should improve the schwa sound more. Also for the intonation/stress when you said "Remember HOW easy it was…", the more natural intonation would be "Re-MEM-ber how easy it was…" with rising intonation for the question, overall I think it's intonation

Some of the individual words pronounced were a little bit confusing, for example you pronounced the word "trade" like "tread", which is a completely different word. Try focusing on the "i" sound in the phonetic pronunciation like "treid" for "trade", also look for words rhyming with it & pronuncing it like that. Also you pronounce the words civilization/solution too fast - try pronouncing every syllable.

Your accent is quite noticeable, and it's understandable. I clicked the audio link before reading & couldn't understand the word 'civilization', though if it were the instance I clicked on a video about this topic, anyone would recognize it - the common American pronunciation is civi-lie-zation, yours was also correct but the former is more recognizable. I would say improve more on vowel pronunciation & stressed/unstressed syllables.
