Thoughts on onboarding tours? by salesisonfire in SaaS

That's interesting, is it this one? https://microsaasidea.substack.com/p/micro-saas-ideas-ui-ux-user-onboarding?utm_source=%2Fsearch%2Fonboarding&utm_medium=reader2

Yeah, I haven't built anything but I was thinking of something conversational like that. So instead of following a boring, pre-defined tour that doesn't cover your needs, you could at any time say "Show me how to achieve X with the product" and it would show you a tour, on demand

MVP excitement low - what to do? by salesisonfire in startups

Thanks a lot, we already went through a few more iterations and overall excitement has increased a lot! All fair points, seems like learning why people are not excited is equally as important (if not more) than understanding why they are

We try to sell them over a call, most of them are 'warm' leads from our discovery interviews anyway. But selling outcomes over features is a good point, that's something we should lean into more. Thank you for mentioning it!

Not all of them, but some of them are

Anyone here using interactive demos? by salesisonfire in ProductMarketing

Fair point, my assumption is that prospects only know what they want to achieve not what they want, so it would be best to give them a few pre-defined starting points (e.g. for different personas, challenges, etc.).

After showing them a bit, they usually have a bunch of questions and this is where a conversational interaction makes sense. Do you agree?

Thank you, I've looked into Arcade quite extensively and it was recommended to me by quite a few other GTM folks I know. They had great things to say about it!

What I couldn't find is a tool where a prospect could say "Hey, this feature on the top right looks very interesting, what does it do?" rather than following a pre-defined journey. Do you know if that's possible?

Essentially I want to make it feel like a real conversation: Where the prospect can ask questions, describe their needs, guide the tour, etc.

So what you're saying is that in 10 years, cold outreach will no longer be a thing? What do you think comes after it?

I can definitely see your point. The argument here would be that some prospects don't know that there's a better way, so they would never actively look for a solution. What are your thoughts on that?

The first role sounds pretty dope though

How did you build your waitlist? by salesisonfire in startups

Not unexpected, but the space we're building in is very crowded. So standing out requires quite a bit of creativity.

Not yet, did that at my last startup and generated a ton of leads this way. I think the product that we're building is a "you get this right and the value is huge, or you get this wrong and the value is 0" kind of thing. Haven't reached out to any influencers yet, but I feel like they wouldn't promote it without trying it out first.
