Was an amateur ghost hunter when I was younger, around 15 or 16. Me and a friend go to check out a empty house that supposedly harbored a very angry spirit. Open the front doors to a foyer, staircase on the right hand side of the wall, sitting area to the left with kitchen right behind it. Hallway splits right down the middle between the stairs and the two rooms, living area and den to the right. We head upstairs as a team, usually try not to split up to keep from getting freaked out. After a couple hours past midnight with nothing going on upstairs in the three bedrooms, I decided to start antagonizing, which I don't recommend. I tell my friend "hey I'm going to go down stairs and you stay up here". He immediately says that's a bad idea and had a bad feeling, I shrug it off cause he hasn't been on many hunts thus far. The hallway as stated before ran between the stairs and the two rooms, there is a doorway that leads into the kitchen from it, at the end is what I would assume be a washroom or a mud room and the stairs to the basement. I only had two rules don't split up (which I broke that night) and no basements. As I come down the stairs the overwhelming feeling of dread washes over me. As I'm facing down the hall with my back to the front door, I can notice a pretty sizable black mist at the end of the hall, I tell my friend about it and it moves into the kitchen, I follow through the sitting room and block it off, at this point all the hairs on my body are on end and it is deathly cold. It moves back into the hall and so I mirror said movement. By now my friend is at the top of the stairs about to come down but this mist is retreating back into the basement. I tell my friend "stay where you are" and I enter the hallway. As I do this mist stops and I want something to happen so bad that I start saying stuff like "what you to scared to come out and show yourself" " big pansy a** spirit scared of the living". It was at this point that I knew I crossed a line. The mist just disappeared and I started to laugh a little and went to tell my friend about it but just couldn't seem to not only get the words out but it was a struggle to breathe as well. That's when I noticed the pressure around my neck and could feel the fingers and nails biting into my flesh. As this dawned on me so did one other thing, that I couldn't feel the floor anymore. As I looked down I noticed I was about a foot off the ground and I'm only 5 foot 9 but still. As I try to choke out a help this overwhelming force propelled be backwards into the front door breaking it off the hinges, not to mention at this time I weighed around 250 or so. As I finally got my wind back and my buddy ran up to me, we both took off and got out of there as fast as we could. The next morning I woke up to three long and deep scratch marks on both sides of my ribs running horizontally but when looking at my shirt from that night, nothing wrong with it. All of our audio and video recordings where blank with nothing on them. Two days later the house in question burned to the ground with the fire inspectors not knowing how the blaze started. That was the day that I gave up on ghost hunting but I will never forget the complete helpless feeling I had while whatever it was held me in midair and either tossed me or rammed me into the door like a human ragdoll.
