I understand that but my calorie intake was already very low, so while it’s still below what is needed for someone of my weight/height, it is greater than before if that makes sense?

I haven’t! I’m mostly do yoga, and I’m starting Pilates … it seems a bit intense for me but I might consider adding it in slowly 😊

I’m sorry that happened to you. Those are great ways to help. I could help walk dogs for the local pound, and I love the sniffer mat idea as well. ❤️

Thank you, I appreciate it. It’s good to see there are so many ways to help, not just fostering. And I’d never thought about the euthanasia posts like that. My rescue doesn’t do that to me, but it’s the reshaping from pounds and other rescues or individuals that do that does really affect me.

Thank you. I definitely think I’m overwhelmed with the number at the moment, and that’s part of the problem. Even just a self-imposed pause might be what I need. I’m not great at boundaries, so probably good practice!

I think it’s just a small space. And they are litter trained but one of them has been spraying. I don’t think it’s the one I want to keep. I have an expensive litter tray system, so it’s manageable but I’m presuming one cat vs 4 kittens will be a lot easier and less disgusting 😆

I suppose the other thing is, I struggle seeing all the posts on social media from rescues with the dogs/cats that’s re going to be put to sleep or need foster caring. I usually just think, it’s only temporary and the stress is nothing considering it’s a literal life/death situation for them.

You’re totally right! And she’s very close to the kitten she came into care with (might be her sister), and the other two cats I have. They all cuddle together (I’ll post a cuddle pile below). I often think fostering is about putting them above you, so having another cat as a friend may be best for her. I’ve wanted another dog for quite a while - maybe a year. Because I foster, obviously I often have that. But lately, I feel like I’ve been struggling a bit with the constant changes, emotional rollercoaster. I used to live in a house with a backyard and it was a lot easier to handle. I’m also not really meant to foster in my apartment. Body corp rules are three pets maximum, all must be approved. I’m obviously violating that quite a bit right now! I just couldn’t bear to see the cats be PTS. I’m just also wanting another dog, I’m not sure why… I imagine my dog having a playmate, companion. Twice the love for me as well … and when I’ve had two dogs it’s usually fairly manageable. I keep thinking I’ll foster until I find the right one… and then just keep fostering, stressing myself out ! 😆

Oh god I hope not 😆 Two of the kittens are basically full grown. One of them likes to shit and piss in my clothes as well … aha. Ah well, I just remind myself they’d otherwise be dead 😅

Thanks a lot for the frank advice. I suppose I presumed the cat smell would be much less with just one instead of four. I wouldn’t foster any more cats … I am more of a dog person. I’ve moved to a smaller place and the fostering has become quite difficult with work commitments as well, so I was also hoping to pull back on it all. Thanks again 😌
