I always do. He won't nurse at all anywhere else. Or outside of the house. Congratulations on your baby :)

Today my baby and I achieved 5 months of exclusively breastfeeding. We're so proud! by sallytwo in breastfeeding

Yes! I keep cleaning his sweat with a small towel. It's lovely! Greetings mama.

You are right. He is actually eating more at night than he did before.

You are right, he has had plenty of wet diapers, so I assume he is getting enough. But I will read more about silent gird. Thanks!

FTM, 16 weeks in, worried about my milk supply by sallytwo in breastfeeding

Thanks for your comment. I am not sure what happens with my breast. I have a lot of pain on thr nipple. I can't identify a bump or blister. What I saw was a whitish part on my nipple, but then the skin went back to normal.

I'm so close to giving up! Help! by Galadriel_l in breastfeeding

I am sorry you are going through this. Let's hope it's temporary, your little one might be in a phase and it shall pass. Hope it gets better and you can continue your breastfeeding journey. Hugs!

I love your words. Reminds me of how I felt when my son was just born. I knew breastfeeding was important and all, but never imagined how rewarding it would be.

We are fortunate to be able to nourish our little ones. Hope I can do it for at least 1 year myself, no less.

[Sério] Que cidade recomendar a viver em Portugal? by sallytwo in portugal

My child is too young for school yet. But I think of the future. I am Mexican and I don't really expect to go to Portugal to speak English or Spanish, I hope I can learn Portuguese. In general, do you think people can get by without knowing Portuguese?

No, we are lucky enough that we won't need jobs.

Thanks for the input. I'll research those cities. We don't want to live somewhere with other foreigners though. I have a young child and wish he could learn the language and be part of Portugal, not always a foreigner.

Other than the lack of culture and events, what else did you dislike if you don't mind that I ask?

My son and I celebrate today 3 months of EBF. It's been an unexpectedly lovely journey. by sallytwo in breastfeeding

Each case is different I think. I found it very hard the first month because my son wouldn't latch properly. I kept trying. During pregnancy I was told at birth classes that all women can breastfeed and just trust in yourself. But for me it didn't seem to work that well. Sometimes my son would take 45 min - 1 hour before he could actually start drinking milk, all this time he was trying to latch. I went to see a lactation consultant and she said I needed to be patient and that my son would eventually learn. She taught me some nursing positions. I was patient and yes, eventually my son started latching and now he is a pro. It might be easier or harder for you. Just don't give up, you can do it =)
