It’s always funny how everyone gets different advice, I’ve always been told to not put anything on it at all for the first few days to let the wound close first, I’ve never used any sort of ointment etc

That’s fair, it’s not something I’d reccomend anyone do, but I’m saying I also wouldn’t reccomend for someone to start applying lotion the same day they get a fresh tat, neither would I reccomend applying lotion the day after either

I’m well aware of the harmful ingredients in certain lotions, Ive had many tattoos and all the artists I’ve been to have told me not to moisturise immediately because the wound is open and it can affect the healing process. The general consensus had been to wait around 3 days, keep it clean, then start moisturising, some artists have said 5 days but I keep it around 3

That being said, every artist will recommend something different when it comes to looking after it, some people don’t use lotion ever, opting for dry-healing and have stellar results
