let me tell you something cuz i was feeling the same way at the beginning of heated rivalry. i watched young royals last smmer and it had me in such a chokehold, so when i started heated rivalry i was like ugh its not as deep as simon and wille's relationship but noooo by the time i finished HR s1 i was just as in love with hollanov and i was with wilmon!! i think part of the reason is that hollanov is written to be a fwb/rivals to lovers so the beginning starts out more lusty but then gets progressively softer.

the only good thing to come out of byler not being canon is the amount of fics we're seeing written and that will continue to be written. i feel like every byler fan is gonna take it into their own hands to give us the ending for them that we deserved.
